I'm not sure what is up with Diesel but for the past 3-4 days it seems he has something like a cold.
He started sneezing a lot and I just assumed that maybe he's allergic to something outside (like pollen). Then on Friday he reverse sneezed a few times - he's done this before so I wasn't worried at first but he did it more than once. Every half an hour or so he does this (sometimes it only lasts for a second or two and other times it's longer).
I'm just wondering if this is something we need to be worried about? Is it allergies, a cold, or something more severe?

Hiya Bailey
Has there been a change in weather lately? I ask because Yoda had this same problem, and we were getting continuous sandstorms & wind storms here in Dubai, and the same happened to Yoda. When the dust settled and we could clean properly, he hasnt done it again.
The sneezing could also be him trying to clear his nose, Yoda & Leia do this often, especially in my face haha.
With the reverse sneezing, I always find that blocking his nostrils while he's doing it helps, as he will clear his nose and breathe through his mouth. When it was happenning often, I actually put my mouth over his nose and just blew in it haha, sounds weird, but its worked. Just not too hard though!!

You can try a benadryl.. 1mg/ lb. Ben is 20lb and can take a whole adult benadryl....Can give every 8 hours. If it continues, I'd have him checked out.
Seeing it being an easy answer!
We haven't had any changes in weather. The only thing I can think of is the possibility of seasonal allergies.
I always cover up his nose during reverse sneezing but I feel so bad because it's been happening a lot lately. Usually it only happens every once in a while. He's been sneezing much more than usual too - I only noticed because the amount of boogers on my face has increased! We'll give him some benadryl for the next couple days and see if it helps.

I would think it's allergies and of course you don't need me to tell you that respiratory problems in pugs need immediate attention. Squig had an allergic reaction a couple of years ago and we had to rush him to the vet he was having trouble breathing, turned out to be a reaction to the flowers in the garden :( hope he's ok soon x

Don't know what it's been like out west there, but over on this end of the country we've had an outbreak of kennel cough, to go with the human flu outbreak.

Have you changed any products that you use - laundry, hair spray, bath soap, etc.? Joy does this when I use hair spray, guess I'm going to be doing the casual messy look from now on. LOL

Wow I never thought to "close" the nose so the obstruction could be sucked down! Thanks! Allergies are here.

hrm, haven't changed anything lately... I did notice today he hasn't been as sniffly so maybe it's something that's come and passed.
thanks everyone for your helpful advice! I'll let you all know if it continues to happen & we go to the vet
