I know the power of PV....
Lulu was very bad yesterday - coughing, licking her lips, throwing up. We brought her in yesterday and she didn't cough ALL evening. Of course - I think this is because we finally made the appt for the tracheal wash which we have been putting off!
She did start coughing again this morning, but it's not nearly what it was yesterday. She seems perkier too.
Our appointment is at 11:30, I'm going to leave her there for a little while and go pick her up. I'm really nervous about this. Has anyone else had a trachael wash done? I was thinking if she didn't cough again, that I would cancel it. But she's coughed again this morning, and if experience tells us anything - it tells us she'll continue to cough - none of it can be good for her trachea, even if it is not collapsing trachea. So we are going to go ahead with it, hoping for a definitive diagnosis that we can then treat - and get rid of the cough.
Prayers and positive thoughts are welcome!

Wishing all the best for LuLu and you too! I'm sure you are nervous, I can relate. Every time any of mine has to go under, my thoughts just run wild. And leaving them at the vets... It's an awful feeling! All will be ok from how you described this procedure.
I've never had an experience with a tracheal wash. My Suli had her elongated palate trimmed, everted saccules removed and naries opened. I was a nervous wreck! I had to leave her overnight. She was never away by herself, I was so worried, I couldn't sleep.... Her surgeon is 3 1/2 hours away, so I checked into a local hotel. Even when she and Charlie Bob got spayed and neutered, they went together. Come to find out, when she wasn't sleeping after her surgery, she was the Belle of the Ball! Her surgeon's place is also an emergency clinic, so someone was with her the entire time and when she wasn't sleeping, she had all of her loyal subjects just falling all over her... Then, when I picked her up, she came prancing out like she owned the place... then she looked at me with those eyes and quickly turned away... she was upset with me for leaving her there... Thankfully, that didn't last long and she came up to me with the 'let's go' look. She's breathing a lot better these days... I asked the surgeon about her trachea and how much damage was done from her not being able to get enough air, putting more stress on her trachea... he said he's much worse, Suli is about a 3 on a scale of 10. Suli has allergies and we thought they were really kicking into high gear...
Please keep us updated on LuLu's progress. Keeping positive thoughts for you and LuLu today!
