The vet just called, our boy Wally is FINE!
(Thank you, guardian angel, Lulu!!)
I pick him up at 4pm. What should we expect from him over the next day or two, as a result of this surgery/anesthesia? The vet suggested we fix him scrambled eggs because he might not feel like eating his regular food. I'm going out to get more wet food since we are out.
Any advice is great appreciated.

YAY! I just responded to your other post so apparently I am behind! I am glad everything worked out well.
Just catching up... glad Wally is a-OK!!!! That must have been terrifying for you -- another anesthesia! UGH! Fix yourself a nice drink, it's got to be afternoon somewhere! No advice on aftercare, just lots of hugs for all.

HOOOORRRRRAAAAYYYYY. I agree with Heather, have a drink. Glad to hear Wally is just fine. He might not want to eat later, but if he does, just small amounts. I gave Zoey some of her soft food on a spoon a bit at a time and she kept it down. Expect no poops for awhile. It took Zoey a couple of days to get that moving, but when she did, holy smokes.
Yay for Wally!
As Gina said, expect no poops for a while. Also don't expect him to want to eat much for the first day or so but do make sure he drinks, of course.
He may want to itch or scratch the incision or rub it on stuff. If so he may need the cone of shame. watch for his lady to want to lick and fuss over it.
I would not feed him tonight (it won't hurt him since he needs to lose weight anyway) just offer water small amounts at a time. Tomorrow a half-sized breakfast, he should be back to normal by afternoon and ravenous for a normal dinner.
Jakey has a large scar on his head where they removed a mass. Luckily for Jake it turned out to be a dermal cyst and not the big C.

He'll probably be a bit groggy, but by tomorrow I bet he will be back to his normal self. Glad everything went well!
