Hi folks,
I am hoping to get some input from you guys regarding a lump in my pug's ear. I guess I should start with a little background information. About 2 years ago Percy had a histiocytoma on the bottom of his paw, the vet told me to give it 3-4 pounds & it should be gone. It did end up falling off but it was a high impact area so I think that helped dry it up & fall off but I could be wrong. Anyway about a year ago I found a lump in the ear that looked exactly the lump on his paw, I went to the vet & told me that it was nothing to worry about. So today we went in for his yearly exam. Found out that he has one rotten tooth (premolar) that is also loose so the vet wants to get rid of that & also remove the lump. He said that if it was a histiocytoma that it should have been gone by now but that's he not worried. Anyone have any history with histiocytoma or lumps in the ear? It's not a large spot. Also, do you think it's worth the risk of putting him through surgery for these two things? I am obviously really upset about the whole thing as he's my baby & I don't ever want to put him at risk for anything.
Thank
First sending good thoughts for Percy.
Maggie had a histiocytoma on her tail. It did go away within 4 months or so. It was 1/2 inch or so. My vet was sure of what it was and said if it didn't go away they would operate and take it off. I did research and since Magiie is a liver shunt pup she shouldn't have surgery so I wasn't going to do any surgery. Unfortunately vets here seen surgery happy, maybe they need the money.

No experience with the lump in the ear but I would get the tooth out. Prayers everything goes well.

Thanks. :) We're going to do the surgery on both, just wish I wasn't something easier that didn't require him to go under. I trust my vet & I know that's he not concerned with the lump but I guess I am more scared of the the 'what if" This is going to be a long two weeks.
