My wife is concerned that Iggy, our six month old, isn't putting on weight fast enough. Judging by our scale he weighs 11.2 pounds at six months and one week. I think he looks fine. Is that about average for this age?
Do you have any pics of him?
Mine is just over 7 months and she is 16-1/2 lbs.
I dont think he sounds too thin. I think they all put on weight differently and he may just be a smaller pug anyway. If he is eating good and his energy is good and his poops are good, i wouldnt worry too much. He's still young, give him time to fill out.
Just my opinion though and i'm no expert.

I worry a bit about my Nano's weight too. He is 5 months and weighs almost 18 lbs now. He was just to the vet though, and she said that he is healthy and a good weight, he is just going to be a big boy. Maybe your Iggy is just of a smaller build? Does he eat all of his meals? How much does he get a day?
Nano is: 9 months and 27 lbs :)
Wow, that's a big puppy lol! When we first started him on the Eukanuba, he ate it all and as much as you'd give him. Now he isn't really into it. We actually leave the food in the bowls he has and it can sit there all day and he would just nibble at it. We gave him some soft food a few times and he loves that so we are thinking either change the brand of dry food or jsut go to soft food full time. He does have a lot of energy, he will play all day long if you let him. I have noticed that lately his #2's have been a little soft and a yellowish color to them. Not sure if that's a concern or not as he doesn't act like he's sick or too thin or anything of the sort. Like I said, I think he looks good for being the runt. You can't see any bones or anything but she's the concerned one. This is him not more than a month ago:

He looks great and he's darling to boot!

He is adorable and looks good. It is better to be on the slim side anyway.
But is he getting enough to eat? Sounded like he isn't eating much anymore. Pugs tend to want to eat all the time.

I think he is being picky more than him not wanting to eat. Like I said, he leaves dry food in his bowl pretty much all day but if you put a bowl of the soft food in front of him, it's gone in minutes.
He is just of a thinner, lanky build. However, I would look into getting him on a better quality food.

If you search the above site, you can look up the food you are currently feeding and compare brands. I would suggest you find the best 4 or 5 star food you can afford and that he enjoys.

Yeah, I we have already talked about changing his food to a better brand. I believe PetSmart carries the Blue Buffalo brand which is a 4-star rated one so we may try out that one. I think that's the only brand they carry in the four or five star categories and there aren't any other pet stores local for us so we will probably try that one out.
