That's part of the reason I don't vaccinate my Pugs any more.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear in my response. All my pugs have had their first vaccinations and at least one more rabies shot. I won't be giving them any more shots. I agree they must have their first shots when they are puppies. I just don't think they need to get more vaccines every year or two or when ever the vet wants to push them at you.

My 17 month old just has his second round of vaccines...should I stop vaccinating him from now on?

This is very interesting. I don't believe these "combo" shots are done in Canada. When we picked up Monty in Seattle, we had to sign an agreement that we would only get the 5 combo not 7 combo 12wk vaccine because of the dangers of the lepto vaccine in toy breed dogs. When I brought this up with my vet, she seemed very confused. They only do a max of 2 vaccines per visit and none are combos.

I just got Mac his second round of puppy vaccinations today and I found out that it had all of those in one shot... except my vet told me beforehand it was just distemper. But he is also not the easiest guy to understand. Thick Chinese accent. What should I do? He hasn't had any reactions so far but it's still within that 72 hour window. Should I panic? Or is this normal procedure for a puppy?
