Default Wet, Goopy stuff in her wrinkles

They look just like her eye boogies. What are they doing in her wrinkles? I've only seen dry, crusty stuff in her wrinkles. I just saw it tonight when cleaning her face.

Could be an infection. Is the skin red? Mine sometimes get some wetness in there after drinking or eating (I flood their food). If there is no sign of irritation just dry gently with a kleenex.

I clean Anya's nose wrinkle with an unscented baby wipe (I buy them just for her). If the skin in there looks inflamed, a little bit of the the stuff the vet prescribed for ear infections seems to work. I forget the name of it; it is both antibacterial and antifungal.

I also use unscented baby wipes. I wipe their faces after each meal.

You need to be a bit careful with babywipes because they can leave dampness inside the wrinkle. Fine to use them but if your put has a deep wrinkle I would suggest drying afterwards with kleenex. Fungus thrives in a warm, damp noseroll.

this is a wonderful mixture to clean the nose roll (and ears). It will kill bacteria and fungus, is astringent, so helps keep it dry and inexpensive and easy to obtain:

1/3 c. household isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol)
    1/3 c. white vinegar
    1/3 c. witch hazel
10 drops (give or take) tea tree oil

Mix together in a pull top container (like dishwashing liquid comes in) dribble it onto a Q-Tip r make up pad and wipe nose roll out until clean.

Squirt gently into ear to fill ear canal. Rub the base of the ear to work it deeply. Let the dog shake, then clean ear with a dry Q-tip.

Use at least weekly, more often if needed or there is an infecttion. If that doesn't clear the goopiness up within a week or so go to the vet and ask for the Mometamax.

    Take care,
    Lisa

    No red skin.
Every night I used a fresh washcloth, half wet, half dry. I clean with the wet side/dry with the dry side. She wasn't drinking any water before the cleaning. She was sleeping.

    Thanks
How much does this make? A small amount, large?
