7Likes everytime I give my puggy a bath...her hair sheds like crazy! so i usually take her out to the backyard and brush her and rub her coat vigorously to get most of the hair off...but it seems to never stop coming out! after about 5 mins...Im covered in hair and the brush is full.
I know pugs tend to shed a lot...but for my baby it seems to only really happen after I bathe her. any other time, I dont really notice. (although I have only had her since late november)
is there a time of year that pugs shed the most??? if so...what helps?

So cute!!
This isn't the case for my pug (she sheds all of the time :) - but I think you are supposed to brush them before and after a bath, with a grooming-type brush...
Mine shed twice a year. Usually early Spring and late Summer.
It is typical for there to be a lot of shedding after a bath as the dead hairs are loosened.
You can use a Furminator a couple of times a week; in between times I find a softer brush or rubber zoom groom is best.
Your little girl is very cute.

I don't know if I'm using the zoom groom correctly...maybe my pup is too small for it (or maybe I'm doing it wrong?), but I never really get much hair off with that. I prefer my furminator so far.
I don't have a pug yet, but it sounds like you need to brush them well daily and use the vacuum cleaner a lot. lol
Soon to be Pug Owner mid May 2012!
Pugs shed! If you're a clean freak it may be a problem. Personally, I consider it a small price to pay for the love of a Pug.
well put CSollers as i have seniors and they do get groomed it's just a pug thing i feel very lucky to have them in my life and as i've said "if you don't like the hair or my pugs;don't come to my house".Just love them pugs!!![]()
