Default Sneezed out some bloody mucus?

Even though I'll call and see what my vet has to say, I'm beside myself with worry with a long night ahead of me before I can call!

Stalin was in the bay window and started barking up a storm because another dog walked by. I wasn't in the room but could hear him. When I came in I thought there was a yellow leaf stuck on the window screen, but it was mucus with some blood in it. I assume it's from Stalin, and that he sneezed it out.

I took it off the screen and kept the tissue (I know, disgusting,). Now that it's dried it looks even bloodier without the mucus there with it.

Usually when he gets excited and starts barking and wooing he sneezes a great deal. That's why I'm assuming he sneezed it out onto the screen. The worry is that when looked up dogs sneezing bloody mucus, all I could find is nasal cancer! Even nasal cancer in dogs his age (3, almost 4). People saying it started with one bloody string of mucus and no other symptoms.

Is the chance that he sneezed so hard a few times that he caused some blood to come out a slim chance? Nothing else seems off....he's snortly but he's a pug and has always been snortly.

He was just at the vet this morning! He has a round cell tumor on his lip, which seems to be going away and the vet thinks is another histiocytoma like he had on his leg. Now this! I'm just sick about it. I'm afraid he's going to sneeze more blood and I'll really be beside myself! No sneezing since, though.

    Anyone else experience this??

Bloody noses in dogs can be caused by several things...perhaps, he lost balance and fell into the window while barking? I would DEFINITELY get it checked out by the vet ASAP though, because tumors are a major cause.

    Take care,

It wasn't bloody like he hit his nose, it was mucus that he sneezed out onto the screen that had some blood in it. OMG I am so worried that he has a tumor!

Yes, do get him checked out, but meantime, don't panic--I was thinking like Lauren (above) was--possibly sinus infection. Try to relax, & just wait to see what the vet thinks. Best of luck (Sending along positive "vibes!") and please let us know what the vet says, o.k?

Prayers for Stalin that it's just a sinus infection. Please update us after you see the Vet.

Take a deep breath! Could be nothing more than an infection....or even the air being dry! I had a bloody nose at a dog show.....just started pouring! Everyone ran to take my blood pressure...and it was just that it was dry in there!!!!

    Seeing good outcomes!

I'm happy to hear something other than cancer after blood was spotted! Also glad I'm not the only one who panics!

We took him on a car ride and he saw a dog and did the bark/sneeze combo again. Didn't see any bloody mucus, but it's hard in the car. He was at the vet this morning and he did a check-up before checking his lip bump, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He certainly doesn't seem to have any other symptoms.....I'm really hoping it was a one time thing from all the sneezing.

I'll be calling in the morning and see what the vet has to say about it. I can't help but worry!
