Winston used to get lots of zits before we changed his water bowl from plastic to stainless steel. Also, I have a feeling that changing from kibble (Royal Canin, blergh) to a raw diet has made a difference. I do think the zits can be hormonal as well, because he definitely had more during puberty.
Proud mama to puggies Winston and Ozzie, Slatan the Cat and Zino the horse.
Don't squeeze puggy zits! They get their faces into all kinds of dirt when out walking and squeezing the zit is just asking for more bacteria to get in there. Now that it has been done make sure you wipe his face with cooled, salted, boiled water after every meal and each time he goes out. If it doesn't start looking better in a week, or if it gets bigger, redder, bleeds or oozes in the meantime then go to the vet.

Zoey had one in the exact same spot. Woke up one morning and it had turned purple and was bleeding. We got her to a vet asap and had it removed and sent away for a biopsy. Thank goodness it came back normal, she has never gotten one again. I would keep an eye on it, and see a vet immediately if it changes in anyway. Keep the area clean and as dry as possible (I know its hard with a flat face).

Winnie used to get these "whiteheads" when she was younger - between 3 and 6 months, but the Vet said they'll go away on there own and they did. Some got pretty big and looked terrible, but they never bothered Winnie and now she's outgrown them! Maybe it was "teen acne" for pugs? Winnie gets baby carrots and frozen green beans, as well as boiled and shredded chicken breast for breakfast and dinner.
