Question swelling on side of face

Every so often, Lucy will have a swollen right cheek, making her look like a lopsided chipmunk. The swelling isn't hot or painful, and doesn't bother her.
Since it comes and goes, is it something that can wait, or go to the emergency vet over the weekend?
Any thoughts what it might be?

I wonder if it's something with her teeth? Have you tried to check in her mouth? I don't think it sounds like an emergency at this point, especially if it comes and goes every so often. Have you tried giving her Benedryl when it's swollen? If that causes the swelling to go down then, in my mind, that means it's more likely to be allergic reaction (bug bite? food reaction?)

I don't think it's an emergency either if it comes and goes. I would get her in to the vet when it's swollen tho....could be a blocked salivary gland that could turn out to be a real problem. Could be an easy fix right now!

Today, her cheek is barely swollen ... don't see anything in her mouth, either. I think she just likes to freak out the mama ...

If it's the salivary glands....she can be building up scar tissue.....I'd have her checked out the next time it happens (hopefully during the week!)

How would they diagnose a salivary gland blockage? Xray?
