Default Please help, just don't know what to do

OK, so it's a month now without a full night's sleep. My 6 month old girl is still waking at night to go to the bathroom but hasn't had a messy crate in awhile. My boy (8 months) who originally never had a problem messing his crate at night is going poo in his crate every other night. It's a mess. I have to bath him now every time.

I've tried streamliningg their diet, took away all rawhides, took away all treats besides mother hubbards, stop giving supplement salmon oil, etc.....

My girl is scratching like crazy like she's allergic to something which is either the pumkin or food (castor and Pollux Ultramix puppy kibble)

My boy is going poo about 6 times but a lot. Neither one has firm poos and both are similar in texture and color (light clay/.mustard) similar to color of kibble.

What do I do? This is gertting to be a bit much for my whole family. The washing of bedding/blankets and bathing every other night, the 11:30 p.m. and 3:30 wake up calls....when will it stop?

Am I being unreasonable? I'm exhausted

Do I just bring them to the vet? He didn't seem to offer much info in our other visits.
May we all be kind and full of love

I wish I could offer a idea what to do. I would suggest a vet to make sure there isn't a parasite. Otherwise I am clueless

If the vet has checked them for parasites and they are healthy I think you have a problem with the food. Would you be willing to put them on chicken and rice to stop the loose poops then transition them to aother food? I'm so sorry you're having problems, I know it's so frustrating when you can't find out what is going on and fix it! Prayers for a good solution.

Pooping 6 times per day is not normal, so something is up. Would you consier switching to a ready made raw diet? I know that it has worked wonder with several dogs with sensitive stomachs. It's likely to reduce poo to once or twice a day. Also, some pro-biotics might help the stomachs to get in shape.

I'm not sure chicken is the food to put them on as many are allergic to chicken!

There has to be a reason for the accidents and wake ups in the middle of the night. Callie is sleeping through the night and will be 16 wks on Thurs. I even got up to potty at 4:30 and she had a clean crate when we got up at 6:30.

I feed my last meal most of the time between 3:30 and 5:30. (It depends on what time I get up...and feed breakfast) I give cookies when they go potty.......and when I leave. Water is always down...except at night.

It's been a weird year........do you have your pups on revolution.....or some kind of heartworm preventative and flea preventative?

I'm sure someone will come on with good food ideas for you!

I see they are also 6 months and 8 months. Are you still feeding them extra food for puppies? Maybe a slight reduction would help as well.

    I feed them 1.5 cups a day 2X a day
    I have them on heartgard.
I'm going o call the vet. I didn't have any problems with my boy. When the girl came in the problems started. Last time we had her stool checked she was clear but they put her on 8 days of flagyl as a preventative. I asked them about my boy and they said he should be fine. It's making me mad that they didn't give me meds for him too. It makes me feel like they want the $$$ for office visit.

I'm just tired of cleaning poop constantly. Just this morning I have already cleaned 5 piles (in the house)

If it isn't a parasite, which I'm sure they say I have to do stool samples on both of them, it has to be the food. So either way, I'm still in for loose bowels for awhile because once I switch their food their stomachs need to adjust....correct???

I think you're feeding too much!

My little one is only on 1/3 twice a day....my adults are on 1/2 twice a day.

If I read what you wrote correctly.....You're feeding them 1.5C twice a day. I'd be feeding 1-1.5 C a day split into 2 meals. You don't want your guys fat! If they're not show dogs, being on the thinner side is healthier!

One of the signs of being over fed is loose stool.

I'm surprised that they didn't give you meds for both dogs.......I'd be upset too if they made you bring your dog in. I'd explain that the female was on meds...and she's better...now the male has it and you'd like meds for both of them to get this over with. Tho...cutting down the amount of food might be helpful.

Am leaving for an afternoon of work......

My guys were fed at 6:30 this AM. Will be fed by 4 this afternoon. All get cookies cuz I'm leaving..... The puppy gets some of her own food. My adults get 3 calorie natural treats. They also get fresh water. Fingers crossed that Callie won't have pooped in her 3x3 (she does hold all night in a smaller cage by the bed). Would really be excited if she didn't pee either! This will come with age!!!!

Oops, shaynapug beat me to it!!

Do they each get 1-1/2 cups 2 times a day? If so, that is a lot of food.
Most people on here including me, feed 1/2 cup, 2 X a day. Some also suggest to feed a bigger meal in morning and smaller at night.
2/3cup in morning and 1/3cup at night. Also don't feed too late at night, try keeping the last meal around 5pm.

No, total is 1.5 cups split between two meals. But I just got off the phne with my vet's office. The vet will call me back but right now they want me to give them 1/3 cup 2x day of boiled chicken and rice. They want me to take them off the castor and pollux and try another brand after we can get their stomachs back to normal.
The vet might put them both on meds t clear them out. We'll see. So there might be light at the end of the tunnel.

I swear (has this ever happened to you all?) all I smell is poo from cleaning it so much. I feel like it's on me

Do you grind up the chicken? And I can use steamed Uncle Bens rice?
