Default FINALLY My Story of the Bad Veterinarian Comes to an End.

    Hi All,
If you read my earlier post about my experience with the Veterinarian that refused to let me see or have a copy of my pugs lab results you probably thought the tale had ended. I was told that the only person they would release my pugs lab results to would be to another Vet Clinic. I promptly obliged and had decided upon a new clinic for my 2 pugs within a few days. At that time I requested that they transfer both of my pugs records to that clinic. Ahhh, but alas... apparently bad Veterinarians don't give-up so easily as I discovered last Friday at Buddy's first visit to our new DVM.

At that appointment the DVM gave Buddy a full check-up and we reviewed his recent Epilepsy diagnosis & medications. I briefly explained the problem with my former DVM as she flipped through the file to find Buddy's most recent lab results. (The results that I had not been permitted to see.) What a surprise! Dr. A**H*** had forwarded my dogs complete file with only one exception...no lab results. She left for a moment to call and request that they fax the results and was told that we had to first complete a "HIPPA" styled medical release form! OK, whatever. My new DVM chuckled as we completed and signed the silly thing before faxing it back.

About 10 minutes later we received a fax copy of Buddy's labs...from 7 months ago. I showed her my receipt for the labs done only 5 weeks earlier and her chuckles started again only this time her expression showed that she was getting annoyed. She expressed her astonishment at all of the uneccessary drama and went to call Dr.A**H*** again to request the most recent lab results. Finally, 20 minutes later Buddy's most recent lab results arrived. We looked at them together as she explained that everything was good. She wrote a new Rx for Buddy's Phenobarbatal and all was well. What a shame it is that Dr.A**H*** had to make things so difficult.

FINALLY...this ridiculous story has come to an end!

Oh well, at least Dr A**H*** did actually do the most recent lab tests. I seem to recall you wondering whether he had just taken the money and run, so to speak. I'm glad that veterinary chapter has ended.

What a loser! I hope this Vets business reflects his/her attitude. He /she will end up asking "Do you want fries with that?"

A friend nearby took her dog to the regular vet for treatment of an eye ulcer but wanted a second opinion as the eye wasn't healing. The vet told her if she took the dog to another vet, never come back to him again. She won't and the dog is now at another vet's office. Must have been a bad day for the vet. I don't go to him, pass right by his office on my way to our own vet, and while thinking perhaps it might be handy in case I'd need him, quickly forgot that idea after hearing this.
