    Default Possible seizure?

Hi everyone, earlier today my 6 month old pug had an episode where it seemed as if she was having a seizure but I am not sure as this has never happened before. She suddenly started making a choking sound while slightly lifting her head up and her eyes were wide open. She was able to walk as she kept walking around trying to figure out what was going on. Finally after about a minute it stopped and she has been fine ever since. Has anyone ever experienced a situation similar to this with their pug? Also, we have already made an appt with the vet for the coming week. Thanks everyone.

    Was it possibly reverse sneezing?
Someone on this site posted a video of it, but not sure who. Try googling 'reverse sneezing in pugs' and see if that is what happened to your girl. If it is, nothing to worry about, but admittedly very scary looking and sounding if you don't know what's going on.

Does sound like it....and it's scary for you and the dog! I pick mine up and cover their nose.....rub their throat gently......and talk softly to soothe them......

Thank you to all who replied. After viewing videos on pugs having a reverse sneeze attack, I am fairly confident this is what she had. It was definitely a scary moment for us and I hope it doesn't happen again. For those that have experienced this, how often should I expect this to happen? Again thank you to all, if it wasn't for your help and this forum I still wouldn't know what to think!

It happens from time to time. Lola can go months without having a reverse sneeze attack.

I found that when Audrey had the reverse sneezing is when she was getting excited or some stress. Then she stopped and wouldn't happen again for a long time. She also had seizures, but this sounds more like reverse sneezing. Good luck with your baby!!
