    Default reverse osmosis

is it ok to only give my pug reverse osmosis for her drinking water. we are on really bad water where i live, area is on well water. i do have a prylox iron filter plus a water softener but figured reverse osmosis would be the best. just wondered if she would be missing something by not drinking regular water.

Interesting question! I'd like to hear the answer to that as well as that's all I give my dogs for their drinking water.

No expert here, but I cannot think of any ill effects. The only knock I know of with RO water is that it taste funny because we're used to all the other stuff usually in our drinking water.

We are on well water too and have an RO unit, I have wondered about this myself. I know that they are supposed to remove everything, including all the good minerals as well as the bad stuff. I would think if they are on a good diet, then it would be okay, I don't really know for sure what the long term effect would be

thought it might explain why she like to eat rocks, when she can find them. believe me i spent and lot of money, and a lot of work, to make her outside territory free from anything she can get her mouth latched onto.

I give Phoebe RO water. She has chronic UTI's so it was recommended that I give her distilled as the minerals in regular water can sometimes help/lead to struvite crystal formation whihc she has had before. She has never had a problem with it but I do feed her a high quality raw diet so I think she gets everything she needs from there.

well i just talked to some two people, they live side by side in houses, and they both swear by this = ani-minerals by pet friends. its a mineral additive you put a few drops in your dogs water. they both claim there dogs dug and chewed rocks and stopped right after using this stuff. any one heard of it.
