I was thinking along exactly those same lines. Henry licks in the evening when we're all settling down to watch TV (Henry likes doggy programmes and anything housey ). He also sometimes rubs his face before licking his paws as if he is washing (like a c-a-t does). I do try to keep his eyes, ears and wrinkle clean but maybe an extra deep scrub is needed once in a while .
