He just ate CHAPSTICK!!!!

Oh my god, Jack just ate a tube of Chapstick! Looks like he ingested the cap and about half of the actual chapstick. Do I need to rush him to the ER vet??? I really can't afford it if it's not necessary, but now I am freakin out he will get sick! What should I do????

It may just give him loose stool. Ava once ate vaseline from the tub - she did get loose poop but that's it. I think Chapstick is mostly petroleum jelly, anyway.

The caps are pretty small and shouldn't pose a problem--my guys love chapstick--it's a guaranteed kiss if you have it on--especially Burt's Bees. Will your ER vet give advice over the phone? Might be worth a call just to find out if there's any risk, but I'd be surprized if there was.

Yup the little brat always trys to lick it off my lips too. Ok I feel more calm now. I guess if we put it on our lips it is at least non-toxic. And he's running around being bad, so I guess he feels just fine.

Oh yes, chapstick...... Ivy prefers Burt's Bees. She has been known to consume a tube or two. I now keep it deep the abyss of my purse.

Wonka has yet to discover chapstick, but he has eaten just about everything else. He seems to prefer clumps of cat fur and other dog fur, he's better at cleaning our floors than our vacuum.
