Start where the glasses were put down and on hands and knees sweep your hands under furniture and through the rug pile. I am hoping that the stray pieces of lens are in the house not in Willy.

I hope he is OK. Gidget, the Queen of eating non-food items, has not tried glass yet, but I think that the cotton ball remedy would work well. When our Golden Retriever, Shasta, was a pup, she ate strange things a lot, and we always gave her a piece of soft bread and butter, lotsa butter, to help her pass whatever through. Bob was worried though that she taught us well - one time she brought the butter container to him after a particularly unpleasant bug she'd eaten! Peg

I saw this earlier but I don't know anything else to suggest, just that I'm praying Willy will be O.K.

I don't guess it really makes any difference but maybe the eyeglass material is plastic, not glass. I imagine the damage would be the same - I'm just hoping so much that everything will be fine.

My neighbor's son has an elderly Samoyed named Bogie who, as a young dog, was eternally consuming the most horrible stuff and Jason was a nervous wreck trying to Bogie-proof everywhere Bogie went. Bogie even ate a new Brillo pad.

Miraculously Bogie survived all that - today he's probably 12-13 years old and battling severe diabetes.

I'm watching and hoping for a good report.

It means SO much to me to have you all thinking about us. The vet wants us to keep a very close eye on Mr. Willy. I don't know much about obstruction, can anyone shed some light? We are praying that he chewed them up small enough to pass through. The vet told me to watch for vomiting, belly swelling and discomfort. I am so worried. It's like having him break his leg all over again, the thoughts of another surgery....I am trying to stay calm but I hate waiting. We gave him some bread with olive oil as the vet suggested, but the cotton balls sound like a good idea too. Do you think I should try that as well?
After searching the floor and bedding, I haven't found anymore of the lens, I am positive he swalllowed it. It's about half missing, it does appear to be plastic but it's just so sharp and jagged. If I hadn't found him when I did, I know he would have eaten the whole thing. It's just like them, to eat whatever they can get their paws on. My husband and I both took a vacation day because I don't want to leave him. I pray so hard that he passes it himself. You guys are great
