Well the good news is that after another day at the vets Pip is home and seems fine, they say that the eye is healing, but the bad news is that they want him in again for another debridement on MondayThe poor little chap is getting very fed up with it all, he shakes like a leaf when we get to the vets and I'm having awful trouble getting his eye drops in, the vet's answer to this was that they could keep him in
In himself he is fine so I don't think it is fair to just leave him there, I'll just have to keep trying with the drops

I have had Pugs for over 12 years now and have seen ulcerated corneas several times, but have never had to go through this procedure. I really don't know who is the more stressed out, Pip or me, I'll be so glad when his eye is healed.

Hi Nicky, sorry to hear about wee Pip. Poor little thing. I just wanted to say that I had major problems with Mouse's eye drops to begin with so to get him used to me doing it I put the drops or gel on my VERY clean finger and dapped it on his eye. The vet said as long as I could get them in then it was ok. I know how stressful it is when you feel like you can't help - I'm a major stress head! And by the time Mouse has squirmed and run around hiding under furniture I'm even worse. Good luck.
I hope Pip's eye continues to heal. Big hugs from us three. xx
I'm so sorry that Pip has to go back in again Monday. I'm praying for the two of you. Hang in there.![]()

Oh boy, poor Pip! And poor you. It sounds like a rough time right now. When Freddy Jones had eye drops, we gave a treat up above and kind of in front of his head. He had to look up for the treat, and we brought the drops in from behind. He didn't fight it very much, so this worked well. Maybe give it a try for Pip. Instead of a treat, maybe some yogurt or peanut butter on a popsicle stick. That way he would be concentrating on licking it off, while you slip in the eye drops. Just a couple of rambling thoughts.

Sweet Norm and Junior (non-pugs) waiting for us at the Bridge. I miss you both so much.
Poor little Pip. Eye meds are absolutely THE WORST thing to give if your puggy is not co-operative. I've been lucky with my girls. My only advice (and I'm sure this is exactly what you are doing) is lots of treats and patience! Hugs for you both.

I was lucky with my Kerry; she'd come and rest her head on my lap when it was time for her daily eye drops. Could you have someone give Pip a treat while you are putting in the drops?
I hope he heals quickly - poor little guy.

Poor old Pip, what rotten luck for him, and how terribly stressful for you. Big puggy hugs from all of us here.![]()

Poor Pip, give him a big cuddle from us! I'm glad to hear you've bought him a new babble ball and no I didn't find the other one anywhere! it didn't turn up in any of Robbies pockets!
Does he still scream like you are trying to murder him when you put the eyedrops in?![]()
That's horrid. Pug hugs. We are thinking of you.

Poor little Pipster. We have finally gotten Maudie to the point where she will put up with drops. My son flips her on her back like a big baby and she just lies there. Hopefully, he'll get there. Depending on what he's getting for his eyes, it might sting. I know that some of the eye meds do.
Good treats, lots of patience for Pip and hugs to you, Nicky. You should probably send Cecil to me. It's traumatic for him to watch all of this....
