    Default Coughing, hacking, honking????

Something is wrong with Moe. Coughing, honking, gagging. Sounds like a cat with a hairball. He woke me hourly all night long.

He was fine Saturday morning. I took him to church for the blessing of the animals. He was excited but behaved well during the hour-long service. The leash was on his harnes, not his collar. He didn’t choke himself, pulling.

This ailment appeared sometime Saturday evening out of nowhere. Today he’s quiet if he’s at rest, but the awful noise starts again when he gets up and around.

Allergy? Kennel cough? Collapse trachea? I'm freaking out, here.

It could be any one of those you list. A trip to the Vet will give you peace of mind. Let us know the verdict.

Sounds alot like kennel cough to me, but I agree you should check with your vet to be sure.

I agree that she needs to be treated! Hopefully, it's just something that meds will treat!!!!

The time that Winston sounded like a cat with a hairball, it was kennel cough. Best to go see the vet to make sure.

    Gaye:
Just so you know--there is a pretty vicious kennel cough bug going around up here in Canada. Really vicious. And the usual antibiotics don't work (assuming that it can be treated with antibiotics). What has worked in the antibiotics department has been Baytril.

Well, Moe slept quietly all night. He did cough a little when he got up and went outside. But it was raining pretty hard this morning, and my boss is an insensitive *&^%, so I decided not to be late to work this morning and give Moe another day to see how he was doing before taking him to the vet.

He's eating, drinking, peeing, pooping normally, and the cough has subsided quite a lot.

I have now told my boss that my little doggie is sick, so it will be less of a crime to come in late tomorrow if I have to.

    I dunno.....

It sounds like kennel cough. Miles had it about a month ago and he only really coughed when he got excited. I hope Mr. Moe Jackson gets better soon!!
