Question Nell ate a banana peel

We went out to dinner tonight and I had left a banana peel in a glass on the end table. I usually know better than to leave things but it slipped my mind. I probably wouldn't have even remembered it had been there except that the cup was knocked over and that triggered my memory. I assume her stomach will digest it ok? She did leave the hard end (stem) piece behind. I still can't believe she ate the whole thing but I haven't been able to find any pieces laying around anywhere. Weird dog!

I don't recall ever hearing anything about bananas being harmful to dogs. None of mine will touch them-they'll carry them around but that's it. I would think at worse she'd have a bit of a digestive upset from the sudden diet change.

After googling, I'm actually seeing a number of recipes that have bananas for dog treats and I cannot find anything about peels being harmful.

Give that little gourmet a hug for me!

She has had banana before but I never thought she'd eat a peel! Never assume to know a black pug I guess!

I suppose you could look at it this way... she got her fiber today!

The things these pugs find appetizing never fails to amaze me! I don't think the banana peel will hurt her at all, it's probably good for her!

When I was at my son's for Thanksgiving I was making a banana pudding.

I was cutting up the bananas to put in it and Cecelia (my grandpug) was doing some serious bargaining with me as she wanted a piece of that banana.

So, I though what the heck! I cut two small slices and gave one to her and one to Dudley (my other grandpug). Dudley held it in his mouth for about 30 seconds and spit it out across the kitchen. You would have thought I was trying to poison the poor boy. He did not like it at all. However, it did not stay on the floor long as Cece swooped in a snagged that last piece of banana.

Oh, did I say that Cece is a black pug DIVA. Cece is like a garbage disposer. She will eat anything that won't eat her first. She is fearless! Kinda like most of our little black pug DIVA's.

If she did put it somewhere, you should smell it soon. ;)

Tessie loves ACTUAL bananas. That is probably her absolutely favorite thing to eat.
