As one of the "oldsters" on PV who has seen lots of changes over the years, I was wondering what your long term goals are with the site.
I presume since it was purchased that it will ultimately be to generate income, and I see that you also own several other breed forums where you do not own the breed of dogs, so I am just curious as to what plans you have not in the near future, but in the long run.

Thanks for being open to questions and changes!

I think Admins are very interested in hearing what you guys would like to see here at the village. They are dedicated to making it a fun and friendly place for everyone. If you have an idea that you'd like to see here, throw that idea towards us.

Likewise, if you think as Ellen does, about the Pug of the Month, not being a good idea, state your point.
As NandA said, we can make it a photo contest instead, or do away with an idea that you dislike.

As you know, we welcome photo's of none pug pets.
We welcome members who don't have a pug but want to learn about them to see if one would be a good fit.
Some people join us because they can't have a pug for various reasons but just want to be close to them and need a pug fix.
    Everyone is welcome.

All of our doors are open, we spend our time here volonteering to make the village run smoothly for all our members. If you have concerns or questions, talk to us either privately or on the forum.

Have a good day all, I'm going to battle my way through the Sales in Paris!!! I'm already thinking this will not be a good idea

Hiya guys - here is a quick picture of we:)

Looks like we are posing for a dentist ad haha! He just returned from his honeymoon in Vegas, which is the reason for his huge smile and I just finished a Toblerone bar which is why I'm in good spirits!

    Hi Roxane,

That's a great question - and we think what Jacqueline said is absolutely correct, we're hoping to make additions and improvements based on the suggestions from the community. We'll hope to keep things fun and fresh - our goals are aligned with all of the Villagers as well.

From the business side, we plan to continue to promote products and services that we think would be valued by the community - the calendar is a great example, we are thinking about a PV store where we feature our community's pugs on items and various other projects.
In the long run, we hope to invest in building traffic and the member base to grow the community to allow for more pug lovers to connect with each other while always focusing on maintaining PV as the welcoming, fun and friendly place that it is now.

Our current team of mods and you as members will be a huge part of any upgrades or new changes we implement and we will work together as team going forward.

Hope that helps to clarify a bit:)!

    Cheers

    Admins

Thanks for the picture guys!! It's great to put faces to the names!
I just want to saythat I like the PV store idea. I'm still basically new here as compared to most other members, so I don't know the history of PV and all of that good stuff, but I am excited about whatever "new stuff" you introduce to us!

See, actually, it further muddies the waters for me. I tend to to firmly land on the jaded and cynical side. It is no secret that I joined PV to keep an eye on Motherrr after my brother died ... but I quickly made friends and enjoy sharing stories of my FurKids - even if they are not Pugs; and offering what help I can to fellow dog owners.
Calendar's great ... PV has always had a drive to defray the costs of running the website. A community should pull together. But from the 'Business side'? A Store?? Featuring Community Pugs? So potentially pictures posted to the Village are no longer property of the poster? They'll be used to market note pads, coffee mugs, mouse pads, et al??
Call me Devil's Advocate, Pain in the Tuchus, Poster Who Cried Wolf ... I am less and less comfortable that the Village is moving from Mom & Pop operation to a Corporate acquisition soon to be a cookie cutter version of the other breed forums owned by the Webmasters.

    Hi Anne,

No worries at all, everyone is entitled to their own reservations - however I want to make clear we are not big corporate overlords:) As you can see from the pic, we're two friends who have a love of dogs and decide to try to mix passion with a business venture.
The Pug Village store was just an idea - some items we could have would be t-shirts, duffle bags, mugs etc. We would only use pug images of which owners asked us to use or ones that we have received permission to use. It would be done tastefully and would actually be a lot of fun for everyone as well.

Hopefully you can give we a chance to prove to you that we have the best interest of the community in mind and that our interests are aligned. We're sure that we will show you that we can put a great foot forward:)

If you only use the pictures that you have permission to use, then that should clear up any fear or confusion. I think it's a great idea and would love to buy some stuff with my babies on it!
Like I said, I'm new and don't know the in's and out's of PV like most people do, but I am willing to give you guys a chance!
