PugVillage Community Update - PLEASE READ:)

Today is my first day back on PV, after a lovely vacation !!!

Thanks Admins !! Its so cool to see what you look like ! I always like to see peoples faces, as I am NEVER right in my imagination haha.

Thank you for your hard work, I myself know how hard it is to keep every single person happy on website/forums. My fiance's brother has a few, and I helped for a few days...never again...I don't have the kahuna's for it !

I firmly believe that you guys will keep members happy, and not shaft anyone :)
As jennifer said, as lon as we have PV and nothing changes, we are all happy.

I LOVE the new ideas...I would totally buy a calendar, especially if proceeds, or at least half, go towards rescues !

I want to thank you Admins for posting the update for us. I think all the new idea's are great. All pugs will have a chance to be a highlight for a month and I am sure that members that have other dogs they would probably be welcome to. The Village has always made everyone welcome no matter what dog you had. As for the problems we have had, I only have one wish. That is for the people that do not like our village and want to cause conflict here. If you do not like it, please go away and let us be happy. We are rebuilding our village and in spite of you, we will accomplish this. We do it for the pugs and other dogs and for those we love. There is a heart here and it beats strong. The love here is stronger than the discord, and we will make sure it stays this way. Welcome to Pug Village everyone. We have fun, we have knowledge, we have love.

I am less and less comfortable that the Village is moving from Mom & Pop operation to a Corporate acquisition soon to be a cookie cutter version of the other breed forums owned by the Webmasters.

Here's my take:

There are people who have left who I will really miss and there are people who are still here that I really love, so I don't want to go anywhere.

I think there are enough pugs out there for there to be a hundred pug sites and we can all belong to whichever ones we want.

I don't have anything against any other site and I don't see why most people should have anything against PV--if they don't like it, that's ok.

But I am here for the pugs in whatever small way I can be. I truly do miss some of the wise and seasoned pug owners that have chosen to go elsewhere but there are still folks like Diane, Bethy, Rosie, Bella (and I know I am leaving people out and I am sorry!) who have a world of pug knowledge that they share.

I am grateful for them and for everyone else who posts here.

But Admins, really--you at least need to get a couple of pugs.

Instead of as much commercialism as suggested, why not let the Village develop much as the old one did--on its own? That being said, I like most of the picture ideas (not so much the shop). I also want to thank Admins ( on your wedding) not only for your work here, but for your work with my problems. Time to stop, I'm beginning to sound like an after-dinner speaker!

I will admit I have been away for about a month what a change will have to wait and see. My reason for being gone is working emails all day can't see the computer too well! I love PV and hope my paws are still here!

I just want to say I'm a member of another dog forum that Admins also own. Trust me, you have nothing to worry about. I've been a member there for about 3-4 years before the owner sold it to these guys due to personal commitments about a year ago. Reading through the reactions in this thread reminds me a lot of how the membership reacted there when these 2 took over. There was this feeling of mistrust, suspicion & just general fear that our beloved site would never be the same again.

They were wrong. These guys have done nothing but work to improve the forum, are always open to any suggestions that the members make to improve the site & are only a PM or email away if you want to communicate with them directly. I think you'll find once you get to know them you'll be pleasantly surprised. I know a lot of other people were when they earned their respect.

This looks like a great site & I look forward to being a part of it. I found it with a Google search & had no idea who was running it until I saw this thread.
