When Pa was out riding the 4 wheeler in the woods, he found some deer antlers. Ma says the bucks loose their antlers every year. Wouldn't you think that they would be more careful with their antlers and remember where they put them? Anyway, Ma washed up the antlers real good and heated them in the oven to make sure no germs were on them. When they were cooled down, Pa cut them up and divided them with all of us. Boy! I never knew how good something that you found out in the woods could be!
MuShu really liked them too!
And Kaya wasn't real sure what to do with them but MuShu showed her and it didn't take her long to get to noming too!
NOM! NOM! NOM!

Wow, we have so many deer here but I,ve never found antlers, if I ever do I know who to ask for directions to prepare them, do the pugs chew them up?

Now those are some happy Pugs. What a great find - antlers are expensive to buy.
We never touch people so lightly that we don't leave a trace.
We have only ever found this one set. Yes, I know that buying antlers is expensive and the 2 deer that my husband got this year did not have antlers. (1 doe and 1 young buck) They are long lasting chews. Even my destructo Rattie Amos didn't finish one off. They gnaw a long time before any fragments come off. I'm sending hubby out in the woods again next week!

I bought one and not ONE of my dogs showed any interest in them
not sure why
It is still outside and will be there likely forever..lol
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........
I need to get my girls some. I am sure they would love them.
I bought two (one for each dog) and they ignored them. THEN I got another for Christmas, because I had been saying how I was waiting for the antlers to show up in the store! Anyway, my jackahuahua FINALLY started to chew one this month, sheesh! I have the second smallest ones and they are $10 here!
BTW, I should add that the ones we got are elk antlers, not deer.
Store bought antlers are the only thing that helped Joy with her painful teething. If we could find some outside she'd be certain she was in pug heaven!

Heating the antlers might have made them more attractive. I would think that it softens them up a tad to.
