Ozzie has one of the tightest curls I've ever seen. Her tail never goes straight, even when she's sleeping. Winston's tail on the other hand is a loose curl and will often fall down when he's concentrating on something (such as chewing a juicy bone) or is tired or in a slightly bad mood.

I guess everybody feels differently about this topic, but I must admit that I think pugs who are close to the breed standard tend to be more attractive physically (on average) than less typical pugs. I do prefer a button ear to standing ears and a good coloration with really black ears and mask and clear fawn coat to a brownish mask and grayish coat. I like short straight backs and well set necks (which also have health benefits). That doesn't mean that pugs who don't meet the breed standard less deserving of love and adoration or that they're not cute. They are all those things. I just prefer the other look. I also want to have the option of showing my dogs.
