Default question about pug in apartment

    Hello pugvillage forum,
I joined today to ask this question because I am planning on buying a pug. I am moving to my new house next month and I was planning to buy a pug. The renter told me I can have a pet that doesnt make any noise like a cat or something but not a dog that barks.
So I surfed in the google a bit and found out pugs dont bark or dont bark a lot or make much noise.. Do you think they would find out I got a dog if I buy a pug? I am planning to have her free in the house and let her sleep in crate when im not home... Will she be cool?

While some pugs don't bark much, some bark a lot. I have one that is a horrible barker.

It would be horrible if you got your pug and then had to give it up. I think I would stick with a cat and play it safe for your heart and your living situation.

    Take care,
    Lisa

Well if you don't like cats there is no point in getting one. However you are in big trouble if your pug is a barker and it is totally not fair on the pug to take that kind of risk. How about something like a guinea pig? They are really cute and affectionate.

My pugs aren't huge barkers, but they will bark at noises outside. So, unless you can get a permission to have a pug, please don't get one. There are enough pugs in rescues already and it breaks my heart to think that you might have to give up yours.

    My pugs both bark.

Whenever they hear birds or other dogs or people walking by they bark their heads off, probably learnt off my poodle.

I had a very non barky pair of pugs... but they still barked more than I liked.

Tinker barks at the doorbell, strange noises and people she can see from the windows.Make sure you get permission before you get a pug, you'll fall in love with this breed and it will break your heart if you have to get rid of them.Good luck and let us know how you make out with getting the okay.

are you planning on living there for the next 15 years? The reason I ask this is because a pet is a committment for the life of the animal. What happens after this place? you will have to find somewhere else that accepts pets......
