Default back from the DOUBLE Vet appointment..for Max

Max was super calm as usual at the vets. the vet was surprised how calm he is.... he is completely healthy. has something on his leg called a skin spar sp?? where the skin does not grow flat......that are benign so no worries about that. he had to be dewormed if he is doing any type of service work at all. so we did that today too. he was DOWN just over 2 pounds too and that is good to hear.

then met the vet from the school in Guelph. the vet there is a friend of the vet that Max seen today. he would love to borrow Max for a day to take the unniversity to see the other vets. he is doing a presentation on service dogs and therapy dogs. he is a very avid person in search of more dogs to go into this field. so Max will go with him when he does the presentation. I am not invited....darn.lol. but that is ok this is a vet conference and I understand that. they will pay for his next bag of dogfood if he goes. it might help other dogs as well and the vets too and Max will be fine for the day I am sure. no sure of a date yet.
he felt that Max is not a therapy dog at all........but for sure a service type of dog. to be a service dog in ontario with all the gear and such he would need to belong to someone that needs a service dog. but he is staying with me.
it was very interesting. the vet tested some of his patience and he was shocked at how calm he is.
he said a service dog is born that way.........usually a very calm puppy. not all dogs reach their potential unless an owner gives them the chance to do. He said I am very lucky to have such a special dog......
service dogs take years of training as well but Max seems to have just fallen into it.....lol by somehow......
    great and informative.
HE did remind me that Max could be easily placed as a service dog but foremost he is my pet........and that is where he belongs....

so now back to enjoying the time with Max and the rest of the group.
want to keep an eye on him for any type of reaction but sure he will be fine....

we are hoping that with taking Max to the conference More vets can explain to their patients parents about making thinking of a therapy dog or a service dog in their future. many breeders that go to the vet with their puppies will be approached as well. this is win win for everyone. max will be fine for the day I am sure.
