She arrived yesterday. A tiny frail little black diva girl with a melt your heart face. Born on Valentines Day 1999. She came wearing a pink sweater with a heart on it, wrapped in her own fluffy blanket. She was accompanied by several boxes filled with her clothes and accessories.
She is very, very thin and her previous owner said she has always been that way, despite eating twice as much (good food too) as the other larger pugs and a ravenous appetite...so she kept her in clothes since she had little fat to insulate her. She manages to get around very well, she sometimes drags the rear legs but sometimes walks mostly on her front legs, using the rear legs as touch points, same with standing.
She hears and sees superbly and is very alert. She came in and proceeded to explore every inch of the house and yard.
She has attitude to spare, she already barks at the cats, when the other dogs bark or when a new person walks in! She may be small, but she is Mighty! She gets very excited when meals are being prepared and went after Jakey when he was too close...barking and nipping at him. He just looked at her like "WTF is that?!" I feed her in the bedroom by herself....LOL.
I took some pictures yesterday, all inside and not very good because black pugs don't photograph well indoors. I'm also having trouble getting my phone to upload to Photobucket. So had to email myself the pics and then host them from there. Will take more today outdoors if the sun breaks through the fog.
Sammy really likes her. He keeps trying to crawl into her beds and snuggle with her....but she is playing hard to get and leaves when he gets in. Hubby was really upset, complaining that we will never be able to go anywhere together and enjoy life, but this morning he was petting her and asking her if she has a new home now...so I guess he's accepting that she's here to stay.
She is very difficult to express and pees frequently, it looked like some of the pee was blood-tinged, so she will be seeing the vet. I think she has a UTI.....hopefully not stones. I can't afford stone surgery and not sure the vet would consider her a good candidate for surgery given her age and condition.
Take care,

AwwwwwwwWelcome little Zoe! I love your sweater. I hope you settle in to your new home smoothly and maybe even add a pound or two to your frame. It sounds like you have a big personality, even if you have a tiny body.
Lisa, thank you for taking her in.... and thank your hubby too!!!

Oh man, my heart just melted again. Bless Sammys little heart, I am sure with his looks and charm he will soon win her over and they will be cuddling all day long.
We are going to be in Anaheim in April and I would love to meet you and your beautiful pack if there is time to do it.

Oh that would be great. Yes we are going to disneyland. It was our sons idea and he offered to pay for our daughter. So Hubby and I and our 27 year old son and 17 year old daughter are going to visit Mickey. I will PM you closer to when we go. I don't know if I am more excited about seeing Mickey after 11 years or meeting you and your most understanding husband, lol. Okay back to Miss Zoey, sorry.

Awww she is so adorable! I hope that she lets Sammy cuddle with her soon, that would make for some adorable pictures :)
Pug Momma to Nano the Handsome!
Poor Barney, once Princess Zoey was gone, he immediately began sleeping on her fluffy green blanket at night, only to be usurped last night by the new Zoe who decided it is now hers.
Sounds great Gina, looking forward to it!

She looks very much like Princess.
Perhaps you could suggest a large side car for the pugs with canned food/kibble sacks/medicine and fluffy blankets.
She is adorable! Keeping my fingers crossed it's just UTI.
Proud mama to puggies Winston and Ozzie, Slatan the Cat and Zino the horse.
She's adorable!! Another to melt our hearts. I love the fact she's spunky! Prayers it's only a UTI.
