Hello Everyone,
I just found this awesome site. Very cool and very helpful. I do have a question though. We were lucky enough to get a 4 year old pug about 3 months ago and he has fit in great with my family. He has become very attached to me. He follows me around everywhere and he even sits right outside the bathroom door when Im in the shower. He's very affectionate and only seems to want human attention. He could care less if other dogs are around or not. Here is a picture of him. His name is Herbie. My question is we have the opportunity to get another male 4 year old pug who has some skin issues and ear infection problems. It seems he came from a home where he was not very well taken care of. I had my family come in and meet with him today and he perked right up when the kids started playing with him. Neither him nor Herbie paid much attention to eachother though. Do you think there will be a jealousy problem between the two or do you think they will eventually want to be around eachother?

It's my understanding that boys usually get along pretty well with each other. We added a boy(Ray) to our family last year and it took a little while for our girl(Minni) to accept him but now they're fast friends. I'd go for it!!!

Hi &I don't have any real advice, just wanted to say that Herbie is a very handsome fellow! We have a female Pug here & a female Lab, & they get along o.k., but because of the size difference & the Pug always trying to boss the Lab, we usually keep them separated by a short fence across the entrance to the kitchen. I've heard that 2 males or a male & female are likely to get along better than 2 females. I'd say, go for it!

Thank you. We think he's a great dog. I think I am going to go ahead and get the other boy. My works going to neuter him tomorrow then i will be able to take him home Tuesday. I will post a few pics after we bring him home. Im sure we will have more questions once we get him home.
Herbie is a very handsome Pug. I think two males will get along quite well, of course, it depends on the individual dogs but once they get adjusted to each other they will probably become fast friends. Good luck and looking forward to photos of Herbie and the new boy.

Welcome to PV. I got Benny as a rescue after having Gus for 18 months. There was an adjustment period but they are fast friends now. I'd sure give it a try. Good luck!
I too expect that they'll get along fine. I'm happy you're taking on the other pug. It seems as if he needs it. A word of advice since he has an ear infection. A lot of the time, ear infections tend to come back once the dog has had one. But you can prevent them recurring by using an ear cleaning liquid once a week or once every fortnight (depending on how dirty the ears get).

We ended up getting him (Wally). He was neutered at work and I took him home yesterday. Once he got here he perked right up. He is more dominant than my other pug (Herbie). As soon as he got settled in he took Herbie's bed and laid down in it and he would jump on Herbie and nibble on his ears. We have to keep a close eye on them until they get used to eachother. No growling or fighting so I'm happy about that. Here's a few pics
