She went to the vet today. They did x-rays and she has no visible stones! He also said he doesn't think her back was broken, just Degenerative Disc Disease. It did show a lot of gas and food in her gut though.
I am to continue the Amoxicillin and cranberry regime I had her on. I will be adding Gas-X for her gas issue. The blood panel will be back tomorrow, he is hoping something will show there as to why she is so skinny despite such a good appetite. And she weighed in at a surprising 11 and a half pounds, assuming their scale was right.
She charmed them all, but howled when they took her from me to get her xrays and blood draw.
She is EXTREMELY bonded to me already...she tries to follow me everywhere and "guards" me from the other dogs. She is a very jealous little diva!
Take care,
Lisa

The vet visit sounds like it went well. I do wonder why she doesn't gain weight.
It does sound like she loves you!

Glad to hear things are not as bad as once presumed. She sounds like a little black diva to me. Yeah for her!!

Not so much a diva, perhaps as a desperately loving little dog. I was going to say that I wish you had ever met Princess, but Zoe is introducing you.
Aww it's cute how fast she's fallen for you :) I'm glad the vet visit went well, and I hope she starts to gain weight soon!

I think it might be she just had the rug pulled out from under her with her other mommy that just went away, and now she is clinging desperately to the new person who has come into her life who is kind to her and is taking care of her needs. I can't imagine what she must have felt being given up like that by someone that was probably her whole world. These little Puggies can feel emotional pain, fear and loneliness as much as any humane. I realize it couldn't be helped and I feel awful for the lady that had to give her up, but it really makes me feel bad for Zoe that she is so afraid she will be left by you that she feels the need to carry on so much. I hope in time she will learn to realize you are not going to give her away or abandon her. But on the brighter note, I'm glad the news at the vet's was pretty good.
Good news at the vet's! She sounds like a warrior to me,hope she puts on some weight soon and her UTI clears. It's so sad when you stop to think about what she's been through but she's lucky to have you.

I would be tempted to put Zoe in a baby sling and carry her around with me. Now that would be asking for separation problems, wouldn't it?
Glad things went well at the vet.
