Oh dear. You sound so down. Have your girl tested for parasites and a UTI to limit any of that out. Once that is done, start from square one on the potty training. I agree with the potty training, our Zoey was terrible. She took a year to be fully potty trained. She loved peeing on things, so we made sure that everything was picked up and bedroom doors were closed. We took her out every hour on the hour. As for the rough housing, is it just puppy play or is your boy getting upset with her. If he is upset then maybe rather than crating her everytime, why not attach a leash to her and to you so that she can't bother him as much. Have you thought about doing some obedience training with her. Best of luck to you, hang in there it will get better as she ages I promise.

I would test again...and for a UTI!
I would limit the time she has out with you....if she goes potty outside, then she can run the house. If not.....back in her area!
I think you should get an xpen..........with the crate inside.....and papers or wee wee pads in an area. Maybe she has to learn that her bed is not the place to potty!
Are you feeding at a specific time? If so, how late????? I don't feed major food after 7...treats...but not a meal! Except in an emergency!
Do you go out with her and reward her with a treat when she goes potty outside and with lots of praise??
Here I am up again.
Decided I was going to get up and let them out because it's been two nights with crap in the cage and all over bedding. My girl is on flagyl 2xday for 8 days. I screwed up the last time. When talking to the vet he said to give her 1 teaspoon a day, which I did but then three days after completing that she started to get loose bowels again (on the bottle it said 2x a day). Had her stool checked again and they said it was clear but maybe not fully cleared up inside so they put her on the flagyl again. I mentioned the UTI but they said let's try this first. So I have to bring her back for retest and office exam in three weeks.
In the meantime, I came down as soon as I heard her cry because I think she just couldn't hold it in. I also have put feeding bowls on both of their crates hoping that would not poop where they eat. It worked for my boy last night. But this 3:00 a.m......don't know.
Of course they woke me. Took them both out but my boy stated barking like crazy because he heard a bird chirping (it's so annoying, does anyone have a pug that barks at anything overhead). So here I am in my underwear and T-shirt chasing a barking pug at 3:00 a.m. It interfered with the bathroom. Had to take him in. Don't want the neighbors waking.
I hope I don't find poo in the crates again.
Got so aggravated that I'm wide awake on here with cup of joe. I have so much work today and I have to take them with me. This is certainly challenging to say the least.
I'm trying to figure out what could contribute to her loose blood streaked stools. Doctor says it could be anything.......stress, change of food, change of treats, eating stuff outside...all the above. Both of them are constantly eating crap from outside. All I do is chase them with the pool pole. They both seem to love dandelion flowers. I try to pull them but everyday new ones are growing. UGH!!!! So frustrated.

I do reward her when she goes outside. I make a big deal. I feed them at 7:00 a.m. and at 5:00 p.m. I am also limiting her time out and about the house as I can't get anything done. Separating them allows me to get some work done and keeps the house quiet. I like silence and peace, not all the time but at least a little each day.

My little guy (6 months old) is still peeing in his crate every night and once in a while he poops in it (none in the last 2 weeks).
I have finally resigned myself to this and figure he is gonna be one of those pugs that does this til he is a year or so old. If he wasn't so damn cute, I think I might have had a change of heart about bringing him into the mix! LOL
He is pretty good about not peeing or pooping on the floor during the day. Only overnight in his crate.
My female (1 yr old) has never soiled her crate, bless her sweet little soul!!
I came up with a plan that doesn't have me washing bedding every morning. I found an old comforter (synthetic filling) and cut it into 3 pieces that fit his crate. I sewed them up and now have 3 pads for his bed. I may make a couple more as there is still some left.
Just take a deep breath and relax! What's done is done, and getting worked up about it only makes it worse for you all.
They're pugs through and through. Just think of it as an extra part of your daily routine.

You are right. I kind of have to go with the flow and be consistent. I just can't believe I was running around in my underwear chasing my boy at 3:00 a.m. Not doubt my neighbors can't be thrilled

I know you are getting good advice but wanted to add you have two very young pugs and it will get better, and as with kids everything is a phase that eventua;;y will end, or change.

A Girl's Best Friend is her Pug.
I remember being tired and overwhelmed when Winston was a baby. I can imagine that you're dealing with twice as much as I was. It will get better, I promise. In just a few months, they will have calmed down.
Do you have a potty schedule? For me that's the no 1 thing. Take them out OFTEN. That way, you lessen the risk of indoor accidents. Perhaps even once an hour at this point. And of course, always after napping, playing and meals. Potty break last thing before bed and once in the middle of the night. If she/they usually wake you up around 3 a.m., set your alarm at 2.30.

I do have a potty schedule. My husband and children always said I was a horrible trainer so I made a promise to myself and family this time around I was going to have well behaved and trained dogs.
The only thing that is concerning me right now is the proper food and getting their digestive tracts in good health. Dealing with her loose stools and now my boy has loose stools.....it's frustrating. Don't know if I need to get him checked out, although it's so hard to get him to stop eating everything in the yard and drinking the pool water. I have him on heartguard. Will that help prevent parasites she might pass along? I wipe her backside every time she goes poo.
And yes, I am tired. Feel like all I'm doing is vaccuuming, brushing, sweeping, shampooing the rugs, wiping him down every time her goes out (he won't stay off the loop-loc cover for the pool) and supervising their playtime. How easily we forget how time consuming it is to train puppies. It literaly is like having a baby.

Keep up the good work, it will pay off in the end. It's a darn good thing Pug puppies are so cute. It doesn't sound like your husband is supporting you at all either emotionally or helping with the work. I'm really sorry to see that. If there was some way I could send him a guy-Pugged charm, I would!
