My new puppy Tank seems to hate his tail because he is constantly trying to bite it off every 5 mins or so. Is this normal? I will post pics of hime once i get some good ones on my camera so far i have some low quality ones on my phone that are not worth puttin up.
He probably wants something to play with. Gus is almost 3 and he still chases his tail. Is Tank scooting on the floor, nipping at his bottom (not the tail), or acting like he has any kind of problems with his butt? Those can be signs of worms or anal gland problems. But if he is just chasing his tail, I think that's normal.
he spins like 4 or 5 times and then he sits and goes at it eventually nipping his tail is that the same thing ? he doesnt scoot on the floor or nothing weird like that. I notice when its not curled he notices and goes after it which is alot lol.

LOL exactly ! its kind of annoying when im trying to get his attention. I asked because i thought it may be unusual since he does it so much. but yea the first video is exactly what he does.
Iggy does this all the time. Haven't seen any harm done just yet. There's even been a time or two where I held it so he can nibble on it lol. He will spin really fast three or four times to catch it then finally fall over and do it again.
It's normal for puppies to do that, but I think it's a good idea to try and distract him from doing it as much as you can. It can turn into an obsessive behaviour (google "chasing tail syndrome"). When he does it, try to engage him in play or offer him a good toy.
