The boys and Toby One of the questions we're constantly asked is how our two 'spoiled' pugs are doing with their new skin-brother. Well, there's a lot to be said for training the dogs before a baby comes home. We started with a receiving blanket from my sister's baby wrapped around a doll, and they weren't allowed to touch it or sit on us when we were holding it. Then when Toby arrived and the dogs came home from Lise's, we brought home Toby's laundry from the hospital and they weren't allowed to touch it either, even when it was lying in the laundry pile with our stuff. SO when Toby came home, theres been some interest and sniffing, but no sitting on or pawing the baby. Leto mostly keeps his distance, and Wally will swoop in for the occasional slurp but only one loving lick and that's it. Wally also comes to get us when Toby cries, but only between 9 am and midnight (apparently he's unionized). During the night we're on our own.

THIS is how it's supposed to be! The baby integrated into the pack instead of the pack "packed off" to never return! Wonderful. I didn't know you were having a baby, but he looks wonderful and it is so wonderful to see these beautiful photos of your WHOLE family! Good Job!

Toby was weighed 2 days ago and he's up to 7 lb 1 oz -- a gain of 57 grams a day!! (The doc said he would have been happy with 15 g/day). He's eating up to 100 mL (about 4 oz) at a meal, every 3 hours. I think he's gonna be a big boy.
