    Default gray muzzle?

At what age does a pug's muzzle turn gray? Rebbie seems to be getting some gray on his chin. He is not even two yet...just seems early.

Also, Rebbie and I will take our first trip together. We are traveling down the highway 2 and a half hours to my cousin's house. I am hoping for an easy trip. How many times should I stop to let him out of his crate? I hope he does well!

Tinker starting turning grey about 3 years ago and she's 6. If you haven't traveled alot with him, I'd stop 1/2 way there. If he has to go before that, he'll probably let you know. Tinker travels quite a bit with us, she usually goes within the first 2 hours then she can wait 3-4 hours. Safe travels.

Buddy is 8 years old going to be 9 in November, he didn't start greying until he was about 5. He still isn't all that grey. Oscar just turned 3 and has begun getting a grey chin, I think he'll go faster than Buddy. Sophie just turned two and is still black as black can be.

Wonka started graying shortly after Nilla arrived! Ha!
I have no idea if it's related though.... he was around 2 years old and it seemed so young to me, but since then I've heard of other pugs getting a few gray whiskers around 2-3 years old.

we have one who didn't gray one bit until about 8 years old and then one who started to gray at 2. I think it's a genetic quirk like in people. You must have to check with the pug's mother's father to see when the black will gray or something. (Or is that balding.) I know my grandmother died with hardly a gray hair on her head in her 60s. I am 64 and am just starting to gray enough so my kids' have noticed it only in the last few months.

It varies pug to pug. My first pug Cookie was graying when we got her at approximate age of 3. We were convinced at first that she was much older than the age we were told. Sunny was starting to go gray around when I first got her at 6. I actually love the graying faces of older pugs and find it so cute! I just don't like the reminder that they're aging!

Good luck with the car trip! I haven't driven with Sunny for longer than 2 hours so I don't have any special advice other than to keep the car nice and cool.

I believe my boy started around 4, someone I started a talk with commented on how gray he was the other day and I did not know what to say now I do. He called my boy OLD, :(

Minni's chin started turning gray at about 2.5 years old. I think she has more gray than Ray who's 10.
