Default Back from camping with pic overload

We are back from our camping trip and as I stated in my old post Eddie did fantastic. He greated all the dogs as a dog should, still running in a little too quick for my liking but otherwise did really well. He had issues with some of the younger dogs running around playing with each other. If they got too close he was ready to snap. Not sure what that is all about, but still very happy with the way he was. I really couldn't have asked for much more at this point. Some of you might not know Eddies history. He was found as a stray, and came to live with us about a year and a half ago. He had major issues with men and most large dogs. He was always on the defense and ready to attack before he could get attacked. But after lots of work and praise and love, he is really starting to come around. Not once did he bark at a human on this trip and every one that came over to pet him he was willing a ready.
Both Zoey and Eddie were wonderful, Zoey is a great camper always has been since she was a baby. We arrived at around 8:30 on friday night and boy was it cold. As the night went on it got colder. Our poor old 77 chev motorhome has seen its days, no furnace anymore and unfortunately this weekend the fridge kicked the bucket. Friday night was the coldest, below 0, I am so glad I brought the extra blankets and had the pugs as hot water bottles. It did warm up a bit thank goodness as the weekend went on. We all had a fantastic time.
So are you ready for the pics, there are a few of them.
These are some of our trip up to the lake, they didn't turn out so good as I was taking them from inside the cab while moving. I was very surprised on how much snow is still on the ground.

Had to take this one. Eddie begged to climbed up on DH's lap, so he finally gave in, but only for a picture moment.

This is one of my nephews so proud of himself that Eddie picked him to sit by. And of course Zoey on Taylors lap like always.

Another favorite of mine. This is what you are supposed to do when camping, but a very rare moment for Terry. He is normally looking for something to fix. Zoey couldn't have picked a better spot.

Excuse me Grandma, can Benji come out and play. Zoey could hear Benji in my parents MH and really wanted him to come out and play.

Here they both are posing on the dock, not an easy task apparently, took a few times to get them to stand still.

My dad thought it was quite funny that Eddie just strolled over to him and sat down beside him.

    And for some more.

We took the dogs for a walk and I thought that you would all enjoy this view as we did.

    Now for the dogs.
First we have Millie the yorkie and Ozzie the Chi. Mille is a rescue, they rescued her and her sister Maddy, but unfortunately Maddy died of heart problems a year ago. Millie is 12 and Ozzy is 8.

This is Nico my brothers dog, he is a retriever and also 8.

Now this is Jake the BC/Aussie. He is 2 and the brother of my dog Maggie that very sadly we had to rehome because of fighting issues daily with Zoey. He was my favorite dog this weekend, besides Zoey and Eddie of course. So smart and gentle and playful. Eddie really didn't like the slinking around that he does though.

This is Jumbo the pitbull, not too sure how old he is though. A real sucky boy, but playfull. I did keep Eddie away from him as I couldn't take the chance of Eddie striking out and Jumbo not liking it so much. But what a beauty he is though.

This is Jumbo's friend, can't remember his name though. He was really timid and shy.

This one is Mator, the lab/bernese. What a character, also a sweet boy who loved being petted. The kinda guy who leans in on you when being petted.

Then there is Benji my parents dog. Same kinda life that Eddie led. He has issues with men and large dogs. But he also did really well. For some reason I didn't get a picture of poor Benji. Benji is a multipoo, snauzer, something or other. We aren't sure, he is a rescue.
And thats it. See no blood, no torn out fur, just lots of fun and a few nips. Hope you all enjoyed the pics.

I can't decide what photo I love the most. I guess just take out the blurry ones and you have my top photos lol. Thank you for the photos. I can not wait to get out in the outdoors.

I am glad everything worked out well for you and your fellow dog lovers.

You know what I like best about your vacation? Your family took your dogs with you! Even the dogs that might have some issues being with other dogs. YOu took them with and worked out what ever problems it caused. I just love it! Great photos! All!

I think my favorite was the little boy with Eddie sitting beside him. Eddie has certainly come a long way. Matters have come to such a pass, that in Tulsa down the road a piece, were Jumbo to be left in the pound it is an automatic execution. Sorry to hear that the motorhome's fridge rattled off its mortal coil, but as cool as it was you didn't need an icebox.

Thanks Kim, I agree with you. It's not a camping trip if you don't bring the dogs. It is getting much harder to bring dogs camping with you know adays though. Bad pet owners have ruined it for the good pet owners. The lake we went to this time was perfect for the dogs, and everyone picked up their poop. It is a forestry campsite so what you bring in, you bring out. No garbage cans.
As for the fridge, it warmed up during the day, so I lost a bit of meat and milk products but not too much was wasted. We did have to have friends over last night to eat up what defrosted.

Beautiful pictures! Makes me want to go camping sooo bad! We have an old motorhome, too, which makes it so nice to go camping with the dogs....but we usually only get to go anywhere during the winter, & the last few winters, haven't been able to go at all....
