    Default Crate training advice please!

    Hello all
I am thinking of getting a new addition to the family as Hugo would like a baby brother and have been writing up a pro/con list and a to get list. Now here's my question, Hugo has a crate and I was wondering if puppy would go in with him or would he need his own? Not that it's a problem if he needs his own just thought they could be together and eventually I was hoping to take the crate away and they could sleep together. Is this a good idea?

IMO the new baby should have his own crate for safety sake. And never leave the pup unsupervised when it is with any other dog or cat. Too easy to get hurt that way, accidents happens in the blink of an eye.

Baby will indeed need his own crate. In time you may be able to do away with the crates, but for now you do need a secure means of separating them.

You can love another, no problem ... parents love multiple children - just each one differently as they have distinct personalities. I have seven dogs and each one has their own part of my heart. I could never imagine being a single dog household.
Puppies need their own crate, but close proximity to another dog or their humans. The Dapple Duo, KC & DiNo, share a crate when I am gone - but they are 3 and 4 years.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should just relax and get used to the idea.
