Well, next week Pugsley and Ozzy are going to have to be boarded while I work at the Red Cross. I am going to be gone everyday 7am-10pm. I am already starting to feel guilty... I have the world's largest order coming from petfooddirect including treats and toys... Ozzy has never been boarded before so I am nervous... The last time I boarded Pugsley was 2 years ago and he was so skinny when I picked him up...![]()

Leslie, as people have been saying, this is a disaster of Biblical proportions. And the kids will be all right - unhappy, but safe, fed, watered, etc. The Red Cross NEEDS you with your technical savvy, your skills with computers and people, etc. The boys will have to sacrifice for you and for others, and they will survive. There are folks out there who don't know where their family (including pets) ARE, and you can help with that. I think that the kids will forgive you. My two cents. Peg
Leslie that is great that you are volunteering. Is there a pet sitter that could come by and walk them a couple of times instead? Luckily I have my mom to take my 2 so I never had the need to board.

They are pugs. They will adapt as long as they are with people who will take good care them and they are safe.
What you are doing is wonderfully unselfish and desperately needed. Your boys will be fine and you will be doing something heroic. Thank you.

Make a cassette tape of you reading out loud that the vet or board kennel can play once or twice a day. Pack their toys and snacks and a few curtains. They will be just fine. Working disaster relief can be a meaningful and strengthening experience. Remember the rebukes are not personal, but the thank yous are. Let us know how you are doing.

It will be better this time....they have each other. Thank you for assisting the Red Cross; I'm sure you will receive many blessings. And just think of all the licks you will get when you return!![]()

Thanks guys!!! Yes, I know they will be fine. I have reserved them a suite at my vet's kennel. The Kennel Manager actually lives right upstairs in an apt. and he loves my guys. They will have their own little room with a bed and window. I will bring their dog beds, toys, etc. I think I would worry more if I left them roaming the house with only human interaction twice a day. At least I know if anything happens their vet is right there. Pugsley doesn't do well when I board him, but hopefully having Ozzy will help. I am sure once I get down to the RC Office - I will be so busy with the office and Disaster Training...I am not going to have time to worry...![]()
