I agree. My dad's dog (not a pug) is thin but you cannot see the ribs, though when you run your hands on her sides you can feel them. She is healthy though and our Vet says not to change a thing.

I think Jessie is a little pudge when I see her sitting, but like Violet, she looks better when she stands.

Hmm she looks cute to me...did the vet say she is overweight. Ben is not allowed to weigh more than 25 lbs. We are starting to limit his snacks. When he is done with Innova we will switch him to Nutro Lite. The vet says a thin pug is a healthy pug. He said it is best that he sees Ben's ribs...I dont see it anymore.

You want to be able to FEEL the ribs, not SEE them. If you can see a Pugs ribs, or any dog for that matter it is too thin, read additional information here.

My goodness how little Violet has grown. I remember when she was just a wee little puppy not too long ago. But she has grown into a beautiful young pug lady. And not the least bit "fluffy". Maybe her head is just small.

Well, you can slightly see my pugs ribs and aside from eye drops they're all ridiculously healthy and energetic.

In the standing pic I think Violet looks fine. You can't go by weight, pugs come in such a range of shapes and sizes.

I think she looks fine. Jasmine looks fluffy too when sitting like that and she is about 14 lbs.

I think she looks fine. I learned long ago to not pay attention to their weight. I watch how they look. My guys do range from 20-24 lbs, none are overweight.

Both Ruffus and Apollo are 18Lbs. She looks pleasently pretty to me! Ruffus licked the screen too so she has his approval. (Ruffus kisses are hard to come by too)
