    Default Dutch Mastiff?

I was in Target the other day looking at baby books. One that I saw was a kids board book about dogs with different textures in it. There were a few pictures of pugs in there and one of the pictures the pug was labeled as a 'dutch mastiff". Have you every heard of the pug being called a "dutch mastiff" before??? Am I missing something?

Check out this site. Dutch Mastiff is a new one on me, but apparently it is one of the names for pugs.

Thanks, I had no idea. I can see why that name isn't very popular...it doesn't really fit pugs.

A I hope if dogs ever take over the world and they choose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are little dogs with some good ideas.

I have heard this name before. I heard that it came into being rather as a joke, as the pug does somewhat resemble a mastiff in all but size.

Neet, I just looked it up. I've always loved the Mastiffs. I do think they resemble Mastiff pups.
