    Some treats...........
    Super Simple Yum Drops

    Easy microwave treat for busy people that still want to cook for their furry companions!
    OAS_AD('x25'); Version I - For Dogs:

    Ingredients:
    3 jars baby food meat (or veggies)
    1 and 1/2 c wheat germ (or cream of wheat)
    Instructions:
    Mix ingredients together well. Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper covered plate and cover with wax paper. Cook on high in microwave for 5-8 minutes (until treats are formed and firm). Store in refrigerator.
    Version II - For Cats:

    Ingredients:
    3 jars baby food meat (or veggies)
    1 and 1/2 c wheat germ (or cream of wheat)
    small amount of tuna juice
    Instructions:
    Mix well. Drop by 1/4 spoonfuls onto wax paper covered plate and cover with wax paper. Cook in microwave on high for 5-8 minutes until formed and firm. Store in fridge.
    Editor's Note: Read the label of the baby food jars to be sure they don't contain Onion Powder. There have been cases where cats developed onion toxicosis after eating baby food. Avoid Garlic and Garlic powder as well.

    Pea"Mutt" Butter and Pumpkin "Pup"cakes

    "Here is a recipe that is a favorite of my rescued dogs Dana and Sabine. Dana was found through Petfinder on her last day at a high kill shelter." - Gina Moultrie
    Ingredients:
    2 1/2 cups water
    1/2 cup canned pumpkin
    1 egg (slightly beaten)
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/4 cup peanut butter (chunky)
    3 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
    1/2 cup oats
    1 Tbsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    Instructions:
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl mix water, pumpkin, egg, vanilla, and peanut butter thoroughly. In a large bowl combine flour, oats, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Mix wet and dry ingredients together and stir well. Spoon into a greased mini muffin pan, making sure to fill each cup completely and piled high. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until firm (but not too brown). Cool completely and store in an open container or paper bag in the refrigerator. Makes 30 mini pupcakes.
