Well, I don't think I need to explain where I got Yoda's name from :) Nick is a big star wars fan, and Yoda looks like Yoda from the movie !! Nick has been telling our friends that we're going to get a black puggy and call it Vader ! HAHA, I'd LOVE another puggy !!!!!

Harleys name just fit him! I saw him and said "thats my Harley" his name was Timmy and it just didnt work. He was meant to be a Harley.

With Roxy when we decided to get her I had named a cat and 5 dogs before I told my hubby "I want your input!" I wanted to name her Hayley but my husband said "not another foo foo name" so I said ok your turn you pick her name. He said "uhhhh...... she looks like a Roxy" so I said "Ok Roxy it is" :)

Rosebud is the only pug of the four I've owned that I got to name - the other three came pre-labeled, with so many other problems I decided not to complicate things further by changing their names.

I actually liked the names Digit (Missouri puppymill name was Idgit , not sure of spelling) and Gumdrop but I would not have named Jimbo Jimbo. I like botannical names but I don't think Jimbo is a botannical kind of a guy.

I frequently call Jimbo "James Beauregard" (with a HEAVY Southern drawl) and even though the name didn't originally have any particular significance, I have come to think it suits him well. Jimbo is a Southern gentleman, no doubt about it!!

I love reading all of your naming stories.

Olive just seemed to fit her cute little face. Since the moment I saw her at 7 weeks old she's been my Olive. She also goes my many nicnames...Olivia, Olivia Newton Pug, Olive Pit, Monkey Face.

Haha for our dog it was very hard to name him

    My mom wanted "hurley"
    I wanted "Thunder"
    My oldest sister wanted "Tarten"
and my younger sister wanted "Rosie" even though he is a guy.

We finally compromised on Theo after the rest of the family ruled out Tarten and Rosie as names that would be too embarrassing.

    Lilly Bug :]

When I first met her, I was holding her right in front of me and she was looking everywhere else but at me, I started naming of names and when I said Lilly (which was like the 5th name) her ears perked and she looked me straight in the eyes. The Bug part got added on by my husband when he said he felt like he was gonna squash her like a bug when she got under his feet while walking. So...Lilly Bug!

my youngest daughter named a pug "piggy" on her DS game. Forthe curled tail and sometimes the little pig noises
so when we were "offered" a pug and she was also was female, piggy is was.
about 18 month later we decided to get a male companion/ play mate for her. we found him on petfinder. once we saw the name, we knew it was him. His name was Porkchop, but we called him Porky for short. Porky fits perfect to Piggy lol. a bunch of little pigs
Tuggy was named tugger. I wanted and tried to rename him to "Yoshi". well, he would not listen. he also did not listen to tugger, but somehow tuggy he liked lol
