Default HOW many of us carry a conversation with our PUGS..lol. be honest...hahahaha

I find the pugs the best of any breed of dogs for just loving to be talked tooo..they do the cute head tilt and listen.
Max could sit there for hours if you talk to him, Zeus too and Zeena is to busy to sit still to be talked too but the boys..LOVE a good convo.
and not a soul talks back..lol

I spend alot of time talking to my dogs. I am sure that people in the real world out there might not understand this but I am sure people on PV will

do you carry a convo with your pugs?

Whats that, oh sorry Pat I was just talking to Zoey about going for a pedicure & manicure tomorrow, lol.
Of course I talk to my dogs, they are the only ones that listen to me around here and don't talk back. Unless there is some sort of food involved with the conversation and then Zoey will bark back at me.

I think you will find a lot of dog owners talk to their dogs a lot more than they talk to their friends and relatives! As Pugaddition says "they are the only ones that listen to me and don't talk back!" There's nothing abnormal about talking to your dogs, even when you're walking them! You should see the looks I get when I'm walking and talking to the dogs I walk! Oops!

Of course! I've always talked with my dogs and cats. During the six months I was alone, waiting for Joy, I found I was talking to myself - way too much! LOL

Oh boy, I can top all of you.. yes, of course I talk with my dogs... but THREE of my dogs carry on a conversation WITH ME.... Abby is the most vocal.. I'll try to get hubby to get her into a conversation so I can record it and you can hear it.. it's hillarious!

every day when I come home all three are on the stairs, I take off my shoes and we sit there and chat about who knows, Remi likes to chat a little but we say he is always talking S#^*# because he just gets so out of control with his talking (I swear he is telling on Princess and Cabella heck even my husband)

My grandmother has a doxie and she will talk to her so much so that you need to wait your turn until she is done

Oh yes, I talk to my pugs all the time. We have long conversations about all sorts of things. I'm sure some people would think we're crazy for talking to our dogs, but at least my pugs are good listeners. Wonka just sits and looks at me like he really understands every word. It's a bit eerie sometimes! Nilla will look at me for a bit and then decide I'm not saying anything important and go back to what she was doing (usually sleeping).

Of course!!! And I think pugs are one of the dog breeds that actually will look into your eyes for a really long time. Seems other dogs, while you know they are listening to you, will look off to the side. Guess it is considered confrontational or something. I do "translate" for MuShu as well. And I don't realize how strange it is to others until a niece or nephew or grandchild stare at me and finally say, almost perturbed, "Dogs don't talk! They aren't saying that!" or something of that nature. I have to laugh and then explain that I've been around my puggie long enough to know what they are thinking or wanting or saying so I say it out loud for them. Sometimes I get the "eye roll" from the kids, but they finally really start to pay more attention to actual value of life and personality and "rights" of animals and start to learn to become more sensitive to animals. Some kids just don't ever get it, do they? Maybe we are born with this empathy, I'm not sure, but I sure will continue to try to train up children to learn to be better with animals.
