That's sort of how I feel about Jack Russell Terriers.... I admire them, but they are way too busy and hyper for me. There was a time, long time ago, that I thought I wanted one, but after researching the breed more I decided "no way, not for me."

I would be inclined to write that girl off my friends list forever, even your grandmother's passing observation that a good jaw line greatly resembled the bow outline of a German U Boat (look up a type VIIC boat, she was right) was made only in house. What a totally unfortunate comment, 'rats' indeed.

Nah ... she can keep her Westies and I'll keep asking if she uses them to mop the floor and I'll continue to oblige my rats
I am sitting with my morning coffee, Nemo on the back of the chair, wuffling in my ear. Peggy has wormed her way in between DiNo and my leg. DiNo ... well - he has a new nick name. Soup Puppy. He is in full on nap mode and if I move him or pick him up, he will be limp as a noodle.

When I was growing up we never had any pets. One day as a young teenager we were vacationing on Lake Huron and I saw a Bulldog ( I always wanted one) and told my Dad when I grow up I'm getting a Bulldog. He said that he had always wanted a pug it was smaller than a Bulldog. I wanted a pug after that. I had never laid eyes on a live pug until DH brought home my first pug.....Huron....I wish my Dad could have seen Huron...he would have loved him. Long story...sorry......I had a taste for pugs sight unseen...they have never been a disappointment.

I fell in love with Pugs while living in NYC. I was living there for school and found myself missing dogs (always grew up with big breeds). So, between classes I'd go to the dog park in Washington Square Park and loved watching the Pugs because they seemed like a big dog personality packed into a small breed. When I graduated, I got a lab/shepherd (the love of my life). He passed away. Then I got to Pugsit and fell in love all over again. That's why I decided to adopt my newbie.
I never thought Pugs were ugly...but some people do. Let them think what they want and we can keep our secret about the wonderful breed that is the Pug:)
