Default Have you seen YOUR PUG GROWL? oddly ZEUS NEVER has.....but MAX..lol is another story

Zeus is the very very laid back guy of the house.lol
he never growls ..EVER..not even once..
he backs down if someone challenges him for something
    never growls over his food
is not protective over his toys or anything..

Max on the other is all MOUTH sometimes...lol
he is a MUCH MUCH more confident dog then he has been his whole life NOW
he will actually get protective over his toys and food from the bulldogs...
even the bulldogs leave him alone if he growls........
HIS GROWL is much stronger then his bite...push comes to shove...he would not fight with another dog.......
he has challenged Gus on occasion ...never Bella...she is alpha and he would not do that at all.
he started to PUSH Zeus out of the food bowl too......but I put an end to that fast....... he just edges into the dish.....and Zeus leaves...

the ONLY TIME MAX wags his tail is when he is NOT a happy camper and TICKED........never when he is in a good mood..lol. unlike Zeus that could clean the floor with his wagging tail all the time. it is a misconception about tail wagging......some people have gotten bitten by taking tail wagging as all happy........it is NOT.
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........

Spud will growl I guess Id call it when there is another dog or barking on TV or other animals on TV like dinosaurs that was on today! Anyways it normally makes me laugh seeing how the growl will normally end with a yawn.

At first Nano would only growl if the cat came near his bowl while he was eating, but we put a stop to that. He's now fine with having the cat eat right beside him, or just hanging around during food time.

However, we adopted a bearded dragon, he is a rescue, and his big tank is set up in the corner on the TV stand. Nano went for days without noticing that anything had changed, and then all of the sudden the other night he started growling like crazy! We found out it was because the beardie had started feeling better (with proper care and regular feeding), and Nano doesn't know what to think! I ended up having to rearrange the entire living room because I can't figure out how to get Nano to stop growling at him. His kennel is now out of sight of the tank, and things have settled down for the most part.

Maybe he thinks he's protecting us?

Yes, both of them but never seriously. Minni growls when playing and Ray growls when he's working on a bone with nobody bothering him. He's in no way food or resource aggressive. He always talks a lot.

Mz Tilly has growled at me, but never attacked. Just try to take a ring bone with meat attached from her! It's a low, evil sound.
Mz Tilly will slightly growl but mostly bark (yell) at other dogs. The growling comes in when seperating them, she hold a grudge for awhile (30 minutes or so) The other dogs always seem over whatever within 5 minutes.

Leto and Roobee gurgle more than growl, but it is definitely a waning even if it is funny!

Snifter will growl if he thinks you are about to take a really good chew from him. He will sometimes growl if you lift him off the bed although that is not really in earnest. I don't think I have ever heard Toddy growl in earnest.

I don't think either of our dogs would dream of growling at us humans, except "play growling" when playing tug of war. They do growl at each other however when trying to protect their property. They can also growl and bark at noises outside.

No, Buster doesn't get angry. He is very playful. He only barks when new people are at our house, but it sounds more whiny than aggressive.
