Maybe it's a Winston thing? My Winston also has people believing he's being murdered.

Giving ear drops, eye drops, cleaning the nose fold, taking his temperature is all easy. He's a perfect angel at the vets. But bring out the nail clippers and I'm his worst enemy.

We tried the vet and a groomer out in the community but Abbey will not tolerate her paws being touched. It would take 3 to do it and she would scream bloody murder. Then we went to local grooming school and the owner picked her up, tucked her under his arm (he's big),with the holding arm grabbed her paws one at a time and dremmeled them. By the time he was done Abbey was licking his face. I call him "Dog Whisperer." Jay rocks.

Trim my boys nails, are you kidding? lol
I would have eto catch him forst and this is not going to happen. I take him to a groomer and let them deal with him, I do stay right there, I want to see what is going on.

One thing I do and this is very interestiing,. I find a place that has sidwalks and we walk on them regualrly, I have not hd to get my boys nails trimmed in many months, the concrete sands the nails off and there is not pain he loves his walks even on the hard surface and it lacts like an emery board.

Where I live it cost $20.00 just to do a trim or if you have a dotors appointment they do it for $14.99 along with the exam, so it saves a bit of money and stress they go through. Now that the whether is getting nicer I do next expect I will need trims for the entire syummer, but I had to deal witht he dew claws since they do not hit the floor.

You should really trim your pug's nail every month.
The way your pug is (probly) dragging his nails the sidewalk is only sharping them.
The sidewalk is in NO WAY trimming your pug's nails. PLEASE get his nails trimmed every month.

I have to respectfully disagree. Some dogs never need their nails trimmed because they wear them down themselves. My girl for instance, never needs the claws on her back feet done. You have to look at the nails to see it they need trimming. If they're not overly long, there's no need to clip. It's that simple.

Emma is the same with her back feet.
But I HIGHLY doubt all his nails are growing THAT slow or not at all.

I have three pugs and two are fine to clip, but my male is not! He freaks and nothing has worked for him either, lo! Let me know if you find a good method that works :)

I've met dogs who never need any nails clipped except dew claws. So again, as long as the nails aren't too long there's no reason to trim.
