so nail trimming time sucks here big time with Zeus.
he fights and fights and gets all in a tither over it....lol
he gets that upset you would not believe..

max on the hand is a breeze to trim his nails..

tried treats with Zeus and that did not work
tried a dremel and that did not work
put him up higher the vet suggested that and that did not work.lol

there must be an easy way to do this.....?
he has been like this since he was a puppy...
I dread the nail trimming days with him..

Gus puts up a bit of a fight but then he just gives into it and we get the job done..
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........

Ummm my solution is a groomer. I worry that I will mess it up and hurt Spud, also he puts up a fight. It takes 2 groomers to get it done. One to hold him still and the other to trim the nail. His nails grow at a snails pace so they don't need to be trimmed often but when that day comes I still dread it, I hate seeing him that stressed.

    Hello

My Hunny Bunny is also a nightmare when it comes to nail clipping, I take her to the vets and it takes 3 of us to hold her, then i take her home and give her , her fav treat which is dryed fish skin and she forgets all about it.

We've tried Pedipaws and the dremel and she gets in such a fuss I'm afraid for her. The vet clips her and it takes a few minutes and we're done. This year to save money, I decided I was going to take over the glands, Adequan shot and nails. No go on the nails, we're back to the vet's getting them done. The rest is fine.

The simplest and most successful way to trim a pugs nails?
Take your pugs to my Veterinarian down here in Springfield, Missouri.
He trims nails for free if he is you're regular Vet.

I wish I knew. Both of mine, who are super easy to handle with everything else, are terrible when it comes to clipping nails. Filing the nails with a foot file works but takes ages. Clipping is a nightmare. Winston behaves as if he's being murdered. It's so strange, because everything else is such a breeze. Giving ear drops, eye drops, cleaning the nose fold, taking his temperature is all easy. He's a perfect angel at the vets. But bring out the nail clippers and I'm his worst enemy.

I wish I had a trick! Lola's nails grow SO fast - she honestly would need a trim every week...I found out there's a place across the street from my house that does them for $10 - my vet charges $15 and is a little farther away - I think I'm going to take her to the closer place one night this week and see if they will clip hers (not sure if they will as she hasn't had her rabies yet?). But am going to have to build bi-weekly nail clippings into my budget!

Even for a little puppy, I struggled with her for 10 minutes and got one paw trimmed...ONE PAW...lol!
