Question Is it okay to reuse deceased pets old things?

    Hi,
since I'm awaiting a pug puppy (hopefully she has a girl!), I was wondering, Is it ok to reuse Mya's old things? such as bed (it's been cleaned) leash, harness, blanket&toys(also cleaned). not bowls or collars. Is it ok do you think? these things are expensive to repurchase, I might have to get smaller harnesses to fit the puppy. also I don't want to throw it away and I'm not sure if op shops take that kind of stuff?
Opinions :D love to all your pugs lots of love sprays!

Absolutely! I see no reason why the things shouldn't be used if they're not broken and you've cleaned them.

    Sure it is!
Unless your previous pug had some kind of contageous disease of course.
About 90% of Kiska & Buddys' toys are made of fabric. They don't care much for plastic toys. Call me strange but about twice a year I round-up all of their bears, geese, mean kitties, porcupines, mailmen and bunnies to wash & disinfect them all. I simply run them through the washing machine with a small amount of detergent plus a "shot glass sized" portion of Lysol. After the machine is done I let them sit for about an hour to give the disinfectant a chance to actually do its job....then I run it through another wash with nothing but water to minimize what I'm sure is a nasty taste. After all of that they go to my front porch where they dry in the sun.

Did I mention that I might be a bit obsessive-compulsive? lol

If it doesn't bother (IMHO it shouldn't) let the new baby play with what you already have.

Absolutely. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to reuse the food & water bowls as well, as long as they were sanitized?

Also, very sorry for your loss and I hope your new pup helps ease the pain a bit.

Absolutely go ahead and reuse, as long as it doesn't bother you it certainly won't bother the new puppy. I still use beds from our dalmation and he passed away 4 years ago. If his bowls weren't so high I would use them too, still have them, can't get myself to throw them away. He was cremated with his collar & leash on.
So sorry to hear about Mya being in a car accident, very sad.

the leash, harness, and second harness were quite expensive, Mya had one of those off the ground beds that she slept in during the day and slept with us at night, things like brushes and stuff all of it adds up! only a few things I need to purchase as I've never had a puppy that I will FULLY look after,as I'm saving for our wedding I can afford a puppy ($1500) plus all the other stuff like vets food a few extra things but not EVERYTHING.... think of the environment!, it will be tough! but I'm determined!, people say oh , it's too soon to get another pug!, I still will miss Mya, always will, I'm very lonely at the moment, you don't realise how much company they are until they go

I think that is a personal thing--some people cant bear to do that, others are fine with it. Whatever works for you.

IMHO, nobody has the right to tell you when it's time for you to get another Pug.
