Car RIDE or NOT for the pugs?

both of my pugs do NOT NOT like to go in the car for any reason at all..........
not sure why that is.....thought all dogs loved the car
the bulldogs are out as soon as the car is out of the driveway and they are sleeping
but the pugs NOT at all

do your pugs love the car?

Yes. Mr Ducky and I used to pick my son up from school every day. He loves car rides. Pluto likes car rides too. The other two are indifferent. They haven't been in the car but a few times.

when they took Max to the vet education day for the therapy dogs...the vet put him in a crate and he screamed so he put him in the front seat but the vet said he did not enjoy it one bit......stayed awake the whole drive and that is over 2 hours from here.......

I had 2 other pugs before that all you had to say was car ride and they were right at the door.........

Beatrice likes car rides. Even if we just walk by my car, she gets all excited, like "are we going? Are we going? Huhuhuhuh?"

Loopy absolutely loves car rides, they're like a sleeping pill for him. But then again he's been doing it since day one, he goes either on someone's lap or in his traveling bag with no problem at all. But my family's dog for example can't stand being in a car, he gets really nervous and throws up so when he has to go for long rides he takes a calming pill. Maybe that would work for you when you take them for long rides?

the pugs were in the car since they were puppies and did not like it then either for some reason

Mz Tilly LOVES car rides, so much so that she knows the shoes I usually wear when going out on the weekends and will sit by the door waiting. She gets such a sad look if she is not invited. Last weekend we went out to dinner and she was sad looking when we left that on the way back decided to just pick her up and go for a little ride around the neighborhood. It turned into a 45 minute drive up and down every street. Usually she just sits and stares at me, ocassionally she looks out the window but mostly just watches me. She probably thinks it's what I am doing the other days when I'm at work.

Minni and Ray like car rides but I think it's because they get to stay with us rather than be left home.

Som likes to sit in the car but isn't that bothered by the driving. I just think he likes to sit in it 'cos he can see us get in the car every morning when we go to work leaving him behind...

I think that might be the case too. Loopy knows that going in the car means going somewhere fun/doing something fun, my family's dog on the other hand rarely goes in the car unless he's going to the vet and he hates it so maybe he associates car rides with seeing the vet. I think it's all about what they associate things with, if a car ride means something fun is going to happen they will most likely love car rides.
