    Default Button or rose ears?

Just for fun, does your pug have button ears or rose ears? And which do you personally prefer? Loopy has button ears as far as I can tell!

Both of mine have Button ears. I don't show, so I don't really have a preference. I think they're all cute. I really love some of the old seniors on here with flying (?) ears!

Rose ears sort of fold themselves backwards and are, I think, more desirable. IMHO, the ears of most pugs seen today are too large to actually meet breed standard. Did you know that in the early 19th century, pugs ears were cropped, like fighting dogs? I our century, the ears of Brussels Griffon and Petit Brabacon (both pug descendants) are still cropped? I have a ceramic figurine dated approx. 1810 of a pug-dog with cropped ears.

    Snifter has rose ears:

Toddy has button ears (which are preferred for show):

Pugabella: Bella has one of each. Her left ear is probably moving due to changes caused by the teething process - you could tape it so that it matches her right ear.

Bella, mummy to Snifter and Toddy!
