    Default Need Pet Contest Ideas

I'm working on our first Halloween Pet Costume Contest, and I need ideas for judging categories. I have Best Overall Costume, Scariest Costume...and that's all I can think of! Maybe large, medium and small dog categories but I need more! This is going to be a big event.

Any ideas in general to make this a success would be most appreciated!

At Pugfest the costume contest is HUGE - and cut throat! I highly recommend doing two catagories, one store bought and one homemade. It's so hard when someone puts hours and hours into a homemade costume and a dog wins that someone just bought a cute costume off of the rack and put it on their dog.

    What about owner/dog look alike?

Ooh, that is a good point. We have other events down here where I have seen the costumes and I agree that some of them are amazing.

    Definitely owner/pet, too, thank you!

At Pug-O-Ween they had a "Best Themed Costume " catagory. The people that won it were dressed like mice- 3 of them- the black pug was dressed like cheese.
